If you're into any type of Progressive-oriented House, I highly recommend the GU boards. It's my absolute favorite and lot of DJs and industry types post there.

Even I can't tolerate the amount of 'elitist' know-it-all blowhards @ GU anymore.

Stay out of GU/Life, it's full of mentals.

On topic: good thing one of the best and most consistent DJ's of the world has a residency in Amsterdam (think his g/f is Dutch) ... NYE should be a good one this year with a DH all-nighter!

ive only seen him twice but both times he brought it and i thought he was even better the second time. its like a mind boggling night listening to how good is and how the set flows and he just gets better and better over the night =).

Yeah, if I recall it was like 3 or 4 hours, but thanks for the link! The first half was the best anyhow.

You're like my dealer or something -- whenever I need a fix, I turn to lucid.

By the way, is it just me, or is this the most positive thread in TA history?

Shhhh, don't jinx it. *knocks on wood*

Listening to the Plaza set now Never heard a set or track by Danny Howells so I'm up for checking it out.

I looked at his gallery on his site and theres a pic or two of him with vinyls, which is rare nowadays. Does anyone know what he uses to spin exactly? Vinyl, CD, both? ableton?

Howells ia genius. But he also works hard at what he does. He has a strong ear for great music. Eclectic taste in music that spans many genres and decades. He knows what the people want and how to deliver it, knows how to work the ground. I hope he stays healthy and keeps doin what he does.

Liner Notes of GU 027
Tantras Hills Of Kathmandu is a brilliantly camp, Italian disco wig-out from 1979 that mashes jiggling guitars with heavily percussive breaks and robotic basslines. Legendarily rare amongst DJs, it took Danny seven years to find a copy.

this is why howells owns - he goes out of his way to find shit that he likes that may be old, may be new - but regardless it's his sound

Had you bothered to read the rest of the thread, you would have found links to sets.
