Just watched again...might be two pistols.

It would be a shame to see CC cancel shows, though I understand why if he did.

I don't know anything about guns, but fuck that sounds FAST even for two pistols.

Caracas, Venezuela

Holy shit...that's so horrible....

i can understand how people feel sympathy for the dead.
however i hope everyone realizes that people get shot like this quite often around the world, sometimes there are innocent kids involved. it happens, and i dont see carl cox canceling gigs because of it.

Obviously. lol

But I don't believe the rest of his tour has any more dates in this particular club.

This is very unfortunate, but having been to Caracas and played there it does not surprise me one bit. South America is a very dangerous continent (though this is also what is appealing about it too for tourists).

:/

I would think it would be pretty shocking to have people shot to death right under your nose.

Not to the same magnitude but - years ago fans rushed the stage at a Pearl Jam show in Norway. The ground below fell through and 8 people were crushed to death. When the crowd finally moved back the band was left to see a pit of dead bodies in front of the stage. They did not play outdoors for years after and now do not allow General Admission at their shows.

Based on the little bit of the video I did see.. it appears the same thing happened here. The crowd dispursed and all that was left was the victims on the ground.

I would think it would be pretty tramatizing to look out to. Might just be me though..

PS. They don't search in Miami and I must admit it does scare me a little everytime I have been out there.

It seems like the production company wanted to save some money and didnt have good security. And not even an ambulance (that's what I read in the news)

I partied in Caracas about a year and half ago. It's not a city you want to venture out of the downtown business and tourist areas.
It's a city where everyone's property is heavily gated and fenced.

I don't know wherre the venue was, but assume it wasn't in the areas I've been to.

Wow. Quite chilling.

What happened at the 3 minute mark - Round 2?

Posted by Spin Laden on Nov-05-2007 20:37:

the majority of most violent acts occur amongst ppl who know each other, so keep that in mind. With it being South America, and the fact that the shootings occurred in a club, one would suspect that it was gang related (hense drug-related). As PLUR as our little society is, you have to admit that there is an ugly drug subculture that exists and feeds off our party choices. Thank God for frisking.

An overcrowded club is our worse nightmare, and from what I can see (and from personal experience), most of the Guv's patrons aren't even aware of these so-called fire exits. Kaos would still occur if something similar were to happen at the Guv, don't kid yourselves...

WRONG. it is your "party choices" that feed the drug trade not the other way around

ps that reminded me of the club scene from collateral. Fucking awesome movie

Posted by Spin Laden on Nov-05-2007 20:52:

lol.. read it carefully.

Hmmm, Collateral.. I have it at home and have yet to watch it

Posted by catinthehat on Nov-05-2007 20:54:

Interesting that this hasn't even been mentioned on most other forums. us TOTAs seem to be pretty interested/affected by this (rightly so imo)

I wonder why not so much everywhere else

Posted by Spin Laden on Nov-05-2007 20:56:

not sure what other forums you're looking at. I know hockeyfights.com has no info

Right next door the MTLTAs are typing away about it too..
