Guys, dont blame anybody for a crappy nite. I mean really, u went to an Armin party and he sucked. Hmmm, somehow the "I TOLD U GUYS HE WAS WACK" voice comes out once again. I mean sure, theres the whole Pacha sucks thing, but at least if the music is good then u can sort of tolerate it (like Carl Cox a few weeks back-despite shitty crowd musically it was the best nite out in maybe 3 yrs for me). DJing wise, AVB would have been wack whether it was at Pacha or at MSG with only the true hardcore AVB fans. But somehow, u guys seem to think his stuff is the shit cause he got famous and has a few gigs here and there, some CDs and his own ASOT show and is now some sort of Britney Spears icon of the trance scene. Like I said before, there are DJs right here on this board who could play way better than Armin and dont cost nearly as much to see (SSU and Coreevents).

now that AVB is popular and #1 it gonna be trendy to rail on him

anyways, ive been a fan of AVB since i first saw him at avalon boston in March 2001 and he had an off night, no big deal, most dj's have off nights... im fine with that if other stuff was managed better.

price i dont even care about, to me $35 cover is not a big deal... and yeah its totally supply-demand. The price couldve easily been 50 pre-sale and then 60 at the door and it wouldnt have changed much.

but last night it was like EVERYTHING didnt come together... armins set was off , oversold out venue, shitty shitty crowd and no real vibe... huge contrast to pvd at roseland, good amount of people, REAL trance/pvd fans,

Way too crowded but was kinda expecting that. Didnt see any fights. His beginning was kinda wack but later he got better around 4-5 the dance floor became more bearible. in the beginning the amount of people was scaring me looked mad dangerous surprised no one got fuckin trampled. the whole presale ticket thing is bs because after commissions it ended up more than door price and the line for presale was actually longer than for people without tickets. Funny how they charge u extra to be able to print the tickets in your house with ur ink and on ur paper. good thing i didnt buy presale. At one point had to pee really bad but it was too crowded to get to the bathrooms so i just pissed right on the dance floor on one of the columns. Coat check line was too long too but i just kind of cut it and got to the front. The 3 asian chicks dancing in this circle while holding on to each other and violently shaking their heads looked mad scary lol. They were to the left of the booth. And there was this one douche that kept climbing onto the beams like a fuckin circus monkey. Basicly it was the usual trance night in nyc i ve come to expect. I still enjoyed it and had fun cuz i havnt been out in a while. left round 5 cuz gf was tired she is not used to shit like this surprised she lasted that long. still a fun night. you guys might think i am an asshole for what i did but in situations like this u gotta do what u gotta do lol. Anyone know when he stopped spinnin
ps i was there for tiesto at avalon that was a truelly horrific night.
Tiesto kinda sux now, hope armin doesnt turn into next tiesto.

Some poor asian person who was rolling face sitting on the side prob. wondered why he was becoming wet all of a sudden. Was it raining in the club or something ? HAHHAHAHAAHAAA.

Def. a fun night, although it was waaaaayyy too packed (reminded me of the very overcrowded and dangerous 'drum and bass' room at LOL last year) Heard the end of Remy's set which was pretty sick, ans the only time i was able to be on the dancefloor was for his opener "big sky" (which was absolutley perfect ) headed out around 5:30 and was dissapointed to hear that I missed "fallen" (if he really did play that...?)

Posted by Victor Dinaire on Nov-10-2007 23:29:

I had a great time. Enjoyed both Armin and Remy's sets.

As for the overcrowding. What can you do? Its Armin. Its going to get packed. Remember PvD at Twilo days? Everyone wants to go!

omg dnb and jungle room at LOL is fakin scary dangerous!!

I had a great fakin time. VIP was the only way to go tho. I remember looking down on the floor and praying that no one got hurt/killed in that disaster. It was scary and completely unecessary.

Looked a little like a freakshow, too. Glad the people upstairs were friendly, having fun and somewhat normal.

In any case, we had 4 bottles of liquor for six people and we finished it all so thats how my night went Wasn't armin's #1 set of all time, but what I could appreciate was that he kept the energy up with bangin trance rather than the slow boring mccarren park bullshit. I enjoyed it and it seemed people did too. Everyone was going nuts and at 6:30 am it looked like *maybe* 50 people had left the while night. PACKED!! I felt so bad for everyone downstairs Surprisingly, even VIP stayed really cool in temp. I have been to pacha on packed nights and the heat just seems to rise, but we were nice and cool

SOOOO much fun with my peeps, one of the better nights out in a long time for friends and just going crazy!! Maybe more comments as the night comes back to me.....soo tired still

There's no way that amount of money needs to be made, especially on a night that Armin happens to play the worst set I've ever heard him play... First hour was garbage, and I just couldn't take it anymore, I left at 4 on the dot... Bumped into Tom Colontonio (hoped you guys liked the gyro, my insides are on fire, too much hot sauce haha)...

yet the parties that cost a fraction of these prices dont get supported properly, intersting why 3500 people are willing to pay nearly 50 dollars but its hard to get 500 people to only pay 10-15 dollars, go figure!
