Posted by DJ_SideFx on Dec-21-2007 14:39:

it's amazing how 2 days later we still didnt receive any official statement explaining what happened.
All the people they considered VIP lol and they called to say that you are officialy invited to out VIP opening bal bla bla, suddenly wednesday they forgot to call them back to say the opening will not happen and they decided to let these people go and wait in front of the door, nice VIP treatement i wonder what the non VIP treatment will be at Space.

I love the reason they gave " Snowstorm " , this is like saying to the people " we consider you as dumb people to whome we can give any shitty reason and you should believe it"

This is totally disrespecting people !!!

Actually, everybody's going...325 confirmed guests on Facebook alone.

And yeah what's the deal with these clubs screwing up on their opening nights. Remember Tribe?, their opening night was a total nightmare.

just came back from Space..The place is nice...The music was really good...Vibe was ok considering that it is quiet everywhere but the sound system is too fuckin loud & in several occasions annoying....I can barely hear

Posted by Dj Vicci on Dec-23-2007 19:58:

Hello everyone
this message is to answer to all the questions that have not been answered, the hypothesis that have not been verified, the skeptical people and more....

First of all Space didn't open on wednesday because they were not ready. the main reason is that the contractors had a hard time delivering the material and equipment necesary for the club.So when we say that it'S because of the snowstorm, it's true. the trucks coming from Toronto and USA were blocked. That's why we decided not to open.

Besides what would you do guys in that situation.
1) open without being ready, let people come in and see holes in the roof, things missing here and there.the outcome will be that everyone is gonna say that we were not ready and that the club looks bad.
2) Not open, cause we want to accomodate everyone really well. the outcome will be that everyone is gonna invent few reasons why we didn't open (forget about the firemen version who didn't give the permit) but at least no one saw the club, so the curiosity factor is still here.

As you can see in all cases, we would have been criticized

We finally opened on Friday and people were actually happy and they all loved the place.

Now as you know, they are many things we are working on and need to be fixed.

1) the sound is getting fixed and we were using only 50% of the sound capacity on the opening.

2) Some people say that the club is too bright so we are working on it to make it more cozy and underground.

3) We are trying different strategies to improve ourselves and to be honest, we can only be better.

So to all of you people i am asking one last question
would you rather begin with a 10/10 and little by little go down to a 1/10 (people know which club i am talking about) or start with a 3/10 and end up with a 10/10. that's what we want to do and we are open for critics as long as they are constructives and not done by haters.

As Bob Marley said, 'good things come to those who wait' so be patient.

Thanks everyone

Saad

i don't know how i looged in as Dj Vicci, but i am not him
My name is Saad and i work at space so if you have critics don't attack Dj Vicci nor Coco entertainment. if you have nice things to say, i would appreciate more.
Peace

It's not a matter of haters or constructive criticism it's about respecting your Guests that you invited one by one over the phone

When the guests got ready and with the shitty road conditions , got the the club and waited in front until a bouncer came out to tell them that the club is not opening, THAT IS DISRESPECTING YOUR GUESTS

you knew waaay before the opening hour that the club wont be open, you should have called your guests one by one to let them know that the opening has been rescheduled ,but you dont just let them get ready and go tot the club and find out at the door.

Posted by Allied Nations on Dec-23-2007 21:09:

almost as bad as a club not letting you and your friends in (all appropriately dressed) with tickets and making them wait in the cold for an hour before trying to charge them 20 bucks

lots of clubs have work to do in the city...

although not telling anyone about moving your grand opening in the middle of winter is pretty ridiculous

I am sorry but you everything you say is false, i was there and no body knew that we were not gonna open. we were working our ass off and in a way , we were thinking that we were gonna be able to open. at 8pm, we knew we couldn't open for the media cockail so we decided to hurry in order to open for 10pm. At 10 pm, we all decided to call it off and it's exactly at this moment that we knew that we were not gonna open. So how you expect us to call 1500 people in 5 min?

If we knew in advance, we would have called them , send emails or do something.

In stead of arguing with your clientele how about realizing that sugar attracts more than vinegar. If you were smart you would get someone else to handle the PR for you on here i think, because your words make me dislike this club.

i am not arguing, i am telling the truth so that everyone knows.

we apologized for not opening on wednesday and for deceiving many of our medias and clientele, what can we do so that people forgive, any suggestions?

Just dont answer anymore on this forum

Everyone will forget about it real soon and your target clientele isnt even on this forum

Post events when the dj is worth stopping by and thats it

Asking for advice from people already bashing your club looks bad

Tu me connais bien saad, laisse tomber d'argumenter ici

Ce n'est pas la place

this is why louis has always been one of the better promoters here.

great advice.

Posted by DJ Charlie on Dec-23-2007 22:22:

so did any of you went this weekend or is it still a construction site ?

I would have liked to go there on friday since i was near it but I was affraid of a potential bordel with a club filled with twice its capacity.

saadabid... if you would have to compare your clientel to another club, which one would it be ? I'm just curious about the kind of people I could find at the club.

Posted by malek on Dec-23-2007 23:00:

pire chose pour un promoteur c'est argumenter avec des clients sur un forum...a sert rien, trop de malentendus, difficile de bien s'exprimer sur un forum!

Posted by Bertuzz on Dec-24-2007 00:45:

true arguing back and forth in a public forum makes no sense, especially with your own clientele.

However, it seems to me (from the previous page's posts anyways) that it's promoter vs promoter arguing. One from Tribe, the other Space. Just an observation.
