I've played rugby in the snow! Thats cold in shorts, seriously.

But I can understand what they are saying but... seriously if anything British teams tend to be weak on the deck not in the air. Route 1 all the way. Hahaha

We aren't doing science here. In which case I would be using Kelvin anyway. You can use Rankine if you want to.

I hope your "joke awareness" (not your education of course ) is sophisticated enough to realize the "" in my above post was to connect your use of the word "mate" with an Australian cliche. Of course, I categorize you limeys with all other English-speaking people who don't have North American accents.

But the population of the UK is three times the size of Australia, so why would "mate" necessarily be an Australian cliche? And why would "limey" apply to any other nationality but the British?! Anyway, you're Canadian, and in my experience Canadians like to distance themselves from America, not try and pretend they are the same!!

Wow...I'm beginning to think you're 16 and that's why we're having all these misunderstandings! LOL, or for some reason, my posts are very unclear . Based on my posting history over the past 3 years, I'm hoping it's the former!

Anyway, just to explain because I think you could learn from this, I never said "mate" was the cliche, the "shrimp on the barby" comment was, and I connected the two because of another Aussie cliche "G'day mate!". Also, the limey comment was not in reference to any nationality but English (I don't even think Welsh/Scottish/Northern Irish would be applicable, so I wouldn't say "British").

All this because I thought you were being serious about your "cultural awareness" comment, thinking that I was mistaken...ah forget it. I'm through explaining shit to you. It's like a bloody brick wall!!! (just as thick) lol

This post is just full of mistakes, I mean really, can't you just have a good think before you type?! You did insinuate that "mate" was an Australian cliche otherwise you would have never said something about cooking shrimps on BBQs. Also, I think you'll find I didn't say "g'day mate", but just "mate" as is a very common saying in the UK (along with saying cheers instead of thankyou, for whatever reason we do that). And you contradict yourself when you say "limey" was directed at the English because before you said it referred to any non-North American English speaker, which would include Australians and also Indians and Pakistanis where English is an official language.

So, I guess we're both limeys...!

(Altho to be fair you're probably about as Pakistani as Fledz is Croatian! )

You don't. It's just that you're so overly passionate about a national team when you have no real connection to it

Yea but I did put an England shirt over it when the match kicked off! It was just to piss my flatmates off cos England winning means more to them!

Don't get me wrong, I'd a loved it if England qualified, but nobody asked me whether I wanted to be English! Sheff Utd on the other hand, I did choose! (And I swapped from being a Man Utd fan when I was about 5 to support them!)

When those who wear the Three Lions on the football pitch show no passion, then I also refuse to show any passion!

(Sheff Utd won 3-0 away last night! )
