in december i was going from el salvador to atlanta. i got to the airport. was asked if i could stay, free hotel and food + 400 bucks in delta dollars. i said ok, best idea ever. the hotel was a very nice one with a free drink ticket for when i got in. also all you can eat for every meal with all you can drink champagne. every meal was 30 bucks and i had 20 bucks per meal.... so i would pay 20 bucks to eat all i wanted and drink all i wanted by the pool and shit.
did it for 3 days, spent i think 80 bucks in total with laundery service... was wasted for 3 days and ate all you can eat lobster and all this other goodness. i also got 1200 bucks in delta dollars which i used for my trip to europe

A while back my family and I had great luck with getting bumped and scoring free tickets. My dad is a whore for getting bumped (stfu, perv). The first time was a trip to Disneyland, we offered to take a flight out eight hours later and were rewarded with first class seats on the way there. For kids (I think we were like, 12?) we loved it. On the way home, we got bumped again and scored round-trip tickets which my dad managed to split up to two trips to Vegas for him and my mom. We went to Disneyland recently (two years ago) and were bumped again, and we applied those tickets to a trip to see some relatives last year.
Seriously, if you're able to hang around for maybe a whole day, it's worth it for free air travel.
