Where he resides has nothing to do with his capability to accept multiculturalism. He obviously still lives with his parents, and thus probably had 0 say in where they chose to live in Canada. Where he resides just happens to be a more white-bred area than Toronto. Making a judgment about someone based on where they live is no less unreasonable than making a judgment about someone based on where they came from.

im australian, i was born their and moved here when i was very young, so did my parents, we are all immigrants.

my point being we all work, pay taxes, are educated, dont commit crimes, dont go on welfare b/c its the easy thing to do like alot of immigrants do...and u dont need to point out that white ppl can be just as bad as immigrans, im aware of that. hoever thr topic is immigration.

bottem line is we need to tighten up our laws and only allow ppl who can benefit this country, not any yahoo who wants in.

You do realize that it's not just immigrants that have criminal records, don't pay taxes and don't have jobs, right? Everybody does it, and it will always happen regardless of where they were born. You, sir, are an ignoramus.

I am an immigrant, and by no means did my family get special treatment because we came here. We had to wait over 3 years to get the correct paper work, after days of driving back and forth to the embassy, medical testing, and anything else that goes along with an international move.

We had to provide sufficient information saying who we were, what degrees my parents had (which by the way, were worth nothing here), and how much money we had in our account.

We started off from scratch with a few suitcases and nothing more.

For anyone to say that immigrants get special treatment is uber ignorant , because it is no different (if not sometimes worse) than the treatment Canadians are given.

However, i think because Canada is such a multi-cultural place, the government is scared shitless of coming across racist or unfair. Unfortunately, with the way the world is today, bigger companies as well as the government are scared shitless of EVERYTHING. Why must there be warnings on every cup of coffee you buy "warning, contents are hot, may burn, blah blah" Everyone protects their ass to unbelievable extents. I think this is why it appears that immigrants get special treatment, but all it is - is people trying to protect themselves.
