INFO:::INFO::INFO PLEASE

So how was the evening

Posted by rizo on Feb-11-2008 00:12:

great set by pvd and i wasnt bored at any time but thats likely due to his power mixing and not playing a full track as always played all the expected tracks with his unique ableton live style along with some live and IDs. Taj said one of them was an early late 80s/early 90s techno track. didnt even mind anthem as i told drunk Ish, "ISH ISH ITS YOUR FAVORITE TRACK!" and i started doing the guitar rift and he gets into it then sings along

i just wish paul signed my exclusive central park insert rather than the inbetween insert but this was my fault as i gave charles the whole cd

also replacing the uc-33e sliders with LEDs is such an awesome idea! i already wanted the uc-33e so i can play with ableton live but the LED idea makes me want it even more now! i honestly thought PvD was being cheap and still using uc-33e all broken like that from the pictures Rukes took on Friday

I found these in Lexxx's Picasa. Awsome pix. I got bummed cause my battery ran out, so most of the pix Lynn took were more of PVD, and some of everyone upstairs. I spent most of my night helpin out in the booth, Videos, lights, etc. Walkin around and sayin hi to everyone who came out.

Rich, Where were you? Andrieux, I say you need to add those blonde women to the Machines Harem. +1 on those new chicks!! Gotta tell Sara to bring em again next time. I hope they had fun.

Just some funny ones from Lexxx's Picasa, and an example of what each room in the club looked like.

Very fun night, diverse crowd and lots of new and old faces, not just asians, not jusy whites, etc... Women ratio last night was like 3 girls for every one guy! Very different crowd from past PVD nights, and Pheeko from Insomnia rocked it up in the VIP room.

I cant wait to see the rest of the pix from Rizos cam.

hehe power mixing...sound kinda like me, and who do you think i picked that up from?

did he drop a lot of classics and play binary finary on the keyboards like he did in LA? that was priceless!!!!!!!

glad you guys had had fun!

Posted by 2tall on Feb-11-2008 02:28:

great night!! had fun in every room, diverse crowd, met cool strangers, hung out in the back tunnel, survived navigating through the crowd pretty well, bumped into familiar people all over the place... it actually ended up being a very adventurous night with lots of stories. and for me not being the biggest PVD fan, i gotta say that this set totally worked for me... so i wish i would have stuck around more earlier in his set.

Posted by skell on Feb-11-2008 02:37:

fun night! I only bumped into Lyndsay, Andrieux and Rizo (did I forget any others?), but me and my friends had a blast! it was super packed though, but upstairs was alright. it just didn't have the same effect though.

guess what? i'll be back next weekend! haha

Good seeing you again and sorry I didnt introduce you others. I would of thought you'd spot Rafal(2Tall) and/or Tommy (T Dizzle) up front. I didn't really want to go through the crowd either Next week should be good w/ Dirty & Taj once again along with DaveT and Mystre

heres my pics -- most of the PvD ones were w/o a flash as he isnt a fan of it and neither am i so i relied on the clubs strobe light, lighting and others flashes: http://rizo.ws/080209

speaking of lighting, why werent these new (?) lights used during PvD

Paul van Who?

Sorry guys but I was completely uninterested the entire night with Paul's set. It may have been the crowd but nothing he spun really gave me that "wow" factor you would expect from a big name DJ. I'll give him props for his work on the keyboard though That was pretty cool, but everything else just wasn't doing it for me

Had more fun dancing to Reza's SICK opener than Paul's entire set. Loved how your new track Sexy Rock sounded in the club environment, it really got the crowd moving and the girls shakin!

But set of the night has to go to Taj. It wasn't even close. Case closed. Ridiculous! Couldn't believe I heard DJ Kaycee - Escape First time I've ever heard that song in a club. Mad props pimpin. Pretty sure you would have kept spinnin past 6am (since there was still hella peeps in the main room) but I know you had to keep your pimp hand steady and rock out the End Up.

Honestly wouldn't have cared if Reza spun from 10-2 and Taj from 2-6 Taj, think about makin that happen at one of the upcoming Local Love shows. That would be ill!

Oh and don't even get me started about Taj, Reza and Dave's End Up sets

The girls had a blast!

Any tracklist of PVD's set? What choons did he spin? Sux that I missed this

Posted by djkyo on Feb-11-2008 09:25:

i wish he would a played more trance instead of electro house, seems that paul is playing less and less trance lately..

Posted by VAHID on Feb-11-2008 18:10:

What a great night, nice crowd lots of girls it was just madness pvd played good also i only heard him for like 30 minutes and loved his electro stuff. Upstairs int he house was just insane, pheeko tore it up,great sets by ecko and pollux also

Posted by R!CH on Feb-11-2008 19:42:

we got in at 1:10 and spent about 30 min at the front bar waiting for a bartender to acknowledge our existance. by the time we got one it was because they cut off alcohol and everyone else gave up. it was 1:40 and the guy wouldn't even pour shots for us to slam right in front of him. wow. so we were all pretty sober in the club listening to pvd pipe through the front room. i only heard about 30 min, but it was definitely his most uninspiring set i've heard to date. it sounded nothing like him. i made an attempt to cross the main room to say hi to everyone, but that wasn't a good idea so we spent the rest of the night upstairs. i'm bummed i missed taj's set cause i heard from everyone it was dope, but the crowd @ 1015 was just too much, esp being stone sober. so we took off, had breakfast at cafe mason and got an early start at endup where cuervo, taj, dirty and d tore it up all morning into the afternoon...definitely the highlight of my weekend!

yeah, that was super lame. my friends had drink tickets left over thanks to being denied drinks at 1:40am...even though people still had their drinks in hand (including myself) after 2am.

why can't we have 24 hour liquor licenses like miami and vegas and the likes

Skizzell you comin up for Menno? Im suprised I didnt run into you when I was running all over the place Saturday.

I thought his set was ok RICH, different sounding yes. I somewhat feel like hes trying to get some support from SF by dissapointing a few times in the past.

I was pretty suprised everytime I went upstairs at how packed it was up there. Pheeko had it rockin from the start.

And Kyo, I would play Ultima for my opening for Menno if I could. I love that Track!!!

I asked Dan about this. He said Marie wanted to use her lighting program for PVD.

I like those lights up there, I think they are dope and change colors from all sorts.

indeed, those were super bright, and it seemed like there were moments where every light in the place was going off, combinations that i don't remember seeing before

Posted by Dj Blurr on Feb-11-2008 22:46:

Ya, I believe Marie has a special lighting program set up for Paul. Both Dan and Marie are both borderline tho when it comes to lighting and making the program work to its fullest. There is more to be put in place soon, more controls and if you think the lighting is dope now, just wait until a few months. Dan has a lot of things in mind.

Paul also has specific visuals that he shows on the screens at 1015. At the beginning of his set before we obtained the visuals, I was just throwing up random images of him. I like when he comes out cause hes one of the few Djs that actually utilize all elements in the club, and everything in the booth. Most Djs wont or dont have any visuals at all.

I like the new lighting in the back above the stage, it replaces the rainbow glober that was back there. If any of you remember that one, that was one cool ass addition to the club. I just wish the pods that are now stationary were on the tracks again. Overall the lazers, lighting, Nitrous, surely set the mood for everyone.

The best is when Marie hits the Nitrous the first time. When ATB was there, ATB kinda jumped a bit the first time when it came on. Ive seen it happen with Above and Beyond too.

A lot of people who never came to the club or havent came in a while had a look on their faces like what the hell was that.

I think it was a good call bringing him out this year over the NY weekend. The club had a variety of people too, not just Asians or whatnot.

it felt sooo good! that was the first time I recall nitro at 1015, and I've been there 5 or 6 times.
