Originally posted by StereoPrincess but recently there has been a phenomenon of people joining in groups and therefore they automatically have to be themselves because all their friends joined at the same time and they just chat on here. in the past, everyone joined on their own and had to figure out the system. now when you join in groups they almost skip the system because they always have the backup in real life. (i dunno if that makes any sense)

I may be the only one who feels like this, but I actually look forward to meeting and chatting with people I don't necessarily agree with on the boards, just to see if we get along IRL. That's "the test" for me - if that fails, then there's no hope of us ever being friends.
I actually enjoy meeting international ta's.
i dont get too travel half as much as id like too so its nice when out of towners come here and i get to meet them.
i got to say the funniest time i met an international ta is when coup came over and swamper and i took them out to republik. I got into a fight with some punk's and anyways i started getting pushed. Swamper ran and grabbed security and i turn around and those ta's are running for cover under a table. good times.
That shit got me angry tho. I was in nooo position to be fighting that night, but i couldnt let a bunch of punks try to start shit with me
Wow, you are such a bad ass.

What I have noticed is and some of you will actually agree with me that there are many different groups/clicks here on TA that only post or reply to their own group members......Which I think is very high school like LOL all the politics .......Shouldnt we all be just one whole group and have no politics.

Originally posted by *~LiSa-LoO~* It's not necessarily that it's being childish, but there are a number of groups of people on here who actually hang out outside of the TOTA world and are real friends. So naturally they may reply/post/comment/make jokes with those people b/c they know them as more than just a screen name, or even a fellow partier they've met a couple times.

Originally posted by UmmiE Well thats fine Im not trying to break friendships here but the opposite.....What im saying is that people I have met with in clubs who post here regularly also feel the same way....Im not going to take names or anything but there is some sort of distance/gap here........Honestly I have people who I like party with and hang out outside TA but I havent restricted myself from meeting new and other people regardless they are noobs or Old school.....its said by many of the most respectable people here on TA....You cant say they are nobodys or they are people who start shit with others. These are people who have been here for a while and still feel that there are these uninviting clicks or groups on TA.

However, what happens sometimes that I do find annoying is when people come up to me and say "Hey you're Lisa-Loo right?" and then proceed to go into this big "getting to know you" schpeal of "so are you in school? what are you taking? are you from toronto? what parties have you gone to? how many brothers and sisters do you have?"...and so on and so forth, while I'm at a club. Not the time nor the place to have this conversation. |

Originally posted by *~LiSa-LoO~* Realistically though, not trying to be rude, but I think you have unreal expectations. Like Margaret said, TOTA alone is huge...there`s no way that we`re all going to be friends. Not to mention, if you meet a TOTA in person and they`re not nice...is that someone you really want to be friends with? You can`t be friends with everybody. If you're going to become friends with someone, it'll just happen.

Despite all the people I have argued with over the years of TA, I've rarely had someone not like me in person. I maybe a bit more mild in my manners but I find when people get to know me, they realize im too innocent, honest and brash in what I say to be regarded as insulting/malicious.
