exactly. the day i become serious on the internet is the day i wipe my vagine

in the past, everyone joined on their own and had to figure out the system. now when you join in groups they almost skip the system because they always have the backup in real life. (i dunno if that makes any sense)

It makes complete sense to me, and I agree.

Haha...you made me cry? Really? I don't remember that. I do remember hating you before though. Where's my ring? I'm still waiting.

What is this? Let's all remember how you made me cry! Haha Sorry...I'm emotional okay! Haha Truthfully though I don't think you made me cry though Margs. But I do remember I thought you hated me. I still do....haha j/k

Also, We all make judgments about each other based on what we read on the internet. The key IMO is that you realize that this is the internet, you can't take it that seriously and you can't really know someone based on what the write on these forums. Then again, like Andrea set, eventually there are parts of your personality that do shine through in the way you post. Even still, there are plenty of people who I thought/think were stupid, annoying, rude etc. on the boards, and then after meeting them in person find them to be quite pleasant. And others that I just don't care to meet regardless.

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Feb-04-2008 01:24:

I may be the only one who feels like this, but I actually look forward to meeting and chatting with people I don't necessarily agree with on the boards, just to see if we get along IRL. That's "the test" for me - if that fails, then there's no hope of us ever being friends.

I actually enjoy meeting international ta's.

i dont get too travel half as much as id like too so its nice when out of towners come here and i get to meet them.

i got to say the funniest time i met an international ta is when coup came over and swamper and i took them out to republik. I got into a fight with some punk's and anyways i started getting pushed. Swamper ran and grabbed security and i turn around and those ta's are running for cover under a table. good times.

That shit got me angry tho. I was in nooo position to be fighting that night, but i couldnt let a bunch of punks try to start shit with me

What I have noticed is and some of you will actually agree with me that there are many different groups/clicks here on TA that only post or reply to their own group members......Which I think is very high school like LOL all the politics .......Shouldnt we all be just one whole group and have no politics.

It's not necessarily that it's being childish, but there are a number of groups of people on here who actually hang out outside of the TOTA world and are real friends. So naturally they may reply/post/comment/make jokes with those people b/c they know them as more than just a screen name, or even a fellow partier they've met a couple times.

i don't think it has anything to do with politics.

obviously you are going to be more inclined to conversing with like minded people. people that have a higher chance of understanding you and having common interests (your friends).

Well thats fine Im not trying to break friendships here but the opposite.....What im saying is that people I have met with in clubs who post here regularly also feel the same way....Im not going to take names or anything but there is some sort of distance/gap here........Honestly I have people who I like party with and hang out outside TA but I havent restricted myself from meeting new and other people regardless they are noobs or Old school.....its said by many of the most respectable people here on TA....You cant say they are nobodys or they are people who start shit with others. These are people who have been here for a while and still feel that there are these uninviting clicks or groups on TA.

I understand what you're saying. I'm definitely not opposed to meeting new people. However, what happens sometimes that I do find annoying is when people come up to me and say "Hey you're Lisa-Loo right?" and then proceed to go into this big "getting to know you" schpeal of "so are you in school? what are you taking? are you from toronto? what parties have you gone to? how many brothers and sisters do you have?"...and so on and so forth, while I'm at a club. Not the time nor the place to have this conversation.

Well that I agree is wrong and can be rather annoying ......But if we all try to get to know atleast one person per party or event to certian respectable way/degree just like we did with various other people who are now our really good friends .......... We can make TA a lot more friendlier place and be an example for other online message boards. Just a though.....

Lets have a :-

Pretty much same here.

I hate talking at the clubs. Too freaking loud and I can't concentrate on the music.

But at house parties or BBQ or at a patio or something, I enjoy talking with other TAs.

I don't think I've met a TOTA who I think is totally snobbish. (plenty of weirdoes though!)

lol that just sounds too familiar
I had similar comments when I met the bulk of the TA's I know now
I guess we all have our on and off moments, some people more then others lol

I'm sorry but this thread is getting way toooo lame.

I think some people here need to reevaluate their priorities. If youre that concerned and/or affected by an online message board; so far as trying to unite all the clicks then you seriously need a life.

That fact that people actually bring up the issue of message board politics is just silly. I cant speak for anyone else, but I dont necessarily go out of my way to meet people from this board. This is mainly a place for me to get some info on upcoming parties and yes sometimes to take part in pointless discussions, just because =]

I think most of you can appreciate the fact that yes, some people on the board are really good friends in real life and with that, some are very reserved.

But hey, to each his own.
I think this is all for shits and giggles, others might think otherwise.
Im just less inclined to peruse message board personalities.

Realistically though, not trying to be rude, but I think you have unreal expectations. Like Margaret said, TOTA alone is huge...there`s no way that we`re all going to be friends. Not to mention, if you meet a TOTA in person and they`re not nice...is that someone you really want to be friends with? You can`t be friends with everybody. If you're going to become friends with someone, it'll just happen.

well alright, you should know that claudia lynx and my best friend are relatives. i've chilled with her a couple of times over the past year, I honestly don't think she's even that good looking.

jealous?
DRAAAAMMAAAA.

Despite all the people I have argued with over the years of TA, I've rarely had someone not like me in person. I maybe a bit more mild in my manners but I find when people get to know me, they realize im too innocent, honest and brash in what I say to be regarded as insulting/malicious.

pfew, good thing i didn't come up to you when i saw you at BBR one time..lol...I've noticed you at a few parties at BBR i think but was actually always kinda intimidated by your "internet"-self..haha

anyway...

I have met a few people and they don't come off like their "internet" selves at all. For example Dima(Cosic_fur) is really not an inconsiderate prick..haha..(Dima.. we gotta party at WEMF again!)
