Ok proper review...

Got to the venue around 11:45, came in with Shankhar and his friend (nice to meet you guys, glad you enjoyed it so much). Thanks to Sasha for the guestlist, no problems. I actually ended up getting into the main room at 12:50, but that's ok because it meant I was that much closer to seeing the main event .

To be honest, I can't really judge Cosmic Gate so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it could have been a good set. I had come with many people and they were scattered everywhere, so trying to 'chill' with everyone was next to impossible. I went to check out the gallery for a bit, seemed like everyone was having a good time. Not really my kind of music, but the atmosphere was definetely really upbeat.

Around 3:20, it was time for J00F and there is nothing more than I can say other than this man took me to places that only J00F can. For 3-3 and a half hours, whoever stayed in the mainroom was taken out of their bodies and into a euphoric frenzy of psy basslines and uplifting medlodies. As always, mixing was mm perfect and progression was equally as impressive. I can remember thinking about 70% of the way through the set... 'Holy shit, I'm at guv and J00F is playing' cuz the music really can zone you out, that's what alot of people don't get today in the scene. They try so hard to make a hybrid of different sounds so that it's unique but it just ends up sounding flat and boring heading in no direction.

I will say J00F was a 10/10 because when the lights come on and you can still go for another 4 hours, you have had one of those club experiences that don't come around that often. In his opening track, there was abit of an incident on the dancefloor with some douchebags which I think killed the vibe for some people, so about an hour in to j00f's set, you could see the coat check from the middle of the dance floor. This made it all the more intimate, and made being in the middle of the dancefloor where you can hear best all that much less of a sardine can. To guv drunks; keep on fighting when J00F comes because you helped the night (I keed Charles, I keed).

Thank you to everyone I saw last night for all being up for it. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Navid (thanks again for the ride man, can't thank you enough!), Kris, Catalina y tu amiga, Mahan, Alex, Bobby, Sean (sorry you couldn't stay around), Ang, Bogdan, Shaya, Shankhar, Robert, Dan and who ever else I missed... Cheers.

The Junkie XL tune immediately brought back memories of the Eclipse festival last year - Protoculture (if i remember correctly) played it at the moment of sunrise. What a way to start J00F's set!

Again....what a incredible night. In reading the reviews, glad to hear everyone else like the set too.

I'm starting a "bring back J00F" thread!

Good seeing you again man. I'm sure I'll catch you again at the next set. And my apologies for bolting so quick, but the bass was killing my ears in the middle of the floor.

J00F was attacking the decks, I had to duck for cover!!!!

Posted by samhouse on Feb-18-2008 02:50:

crap i missed IM - Deeply Disturbed.

Fragma - Toca's Miracle

Human Blue - A La Carte

Astral Projection - The Prophecy

Lasers 1

Lasers 2

The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Eskimo Remix)

Therion - O' fortuna (Wizzy Noise Remix)

i know you can't see it in the vid, but j00f was acting out the whole piece pretty much in form of a musical conductor.

LSG - Netherworld (Oliver Prime Remix)

i apologize about the darkness, but it was really dark in the there. they turned off most of the lights and the light wall probably because the laser takes a lot of power to run.
