| Originally posted by JD8180 i agree that it's all about arriving early. as i originally posted it was my fault because i forgot to plan ahead for ultra ending around that time, which delayed me by over an hour to drive 2 blocks to park my car. i was just ranting about the shadiness of the whole thing. at this point i'm just trying to see if i could get a refund to actually end up profiting from this whole thing as i had sold the tickets in line. |
Isnt one of the advatages of buying presale tickets supposed to be guaranteed entry into an event? Regardless of what time you get there?
If not, what is the point of buying presale tickets?
And if presales dont really mean shit, then what prevents clubs from selling as many tickets as they want? Then when people who purchased presales bitch about it, the club blames it on those people for not arriving on time...that just doesnt make sense to me

| Originally posted by the unknown Yes, if I buy presales to an event I feel like I can show up whenever I want. Yes, I live in a hick town, but regardless, I paid for a service and was denied that service. The club has capacity limits and shouldnt sell presales if they arent going to honor all the ticketholders who purchase them. I went, stood in line for fucking ever, therefore I would like a refund...is that wrong? Just because it's like this in Vegas, doesnt mean it has to be this way in Miami. People who are "ok" with purchasing presales and then having to pay an additional $200 to get into a party are pretty much enabling these clubs/bouncers/whoever to do this...making it acceptable I dont find that acceptable. If a club wants to be like that, then dont sell presale tickets to an event! Just charge admission at the door and rape people for however much you want. You damn sure wont catch me paying $200 to get into a club And by no means am I saying it was the club owners fault for what went on, especially with the $200 bribes to be snuck in the back. But someone has to dish out some compensation |

| Originally posted by 3tlk It isn't unlike airlines, they sell over to capacity all the time. It doesn't make sense, but it is something you learn to deal with in certain cities/clubs. As a consumer I buy presales to save money, clubbing gets expensive and it all adds up. |
Well, this thread sure has taken off. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing
. Let me say first that I did not arrive incredibly early, and I walked right into a fairly full Parkwest. I had a great time and feel very fortunate because I learned that the outside clusterf*ck started about 10-15 minutes after I strolled over from Ultra. I guess I was just lucky like that all week
. I wish it hadn't all gone down like it did for a lot of people outside. I had friends who arrived shortly after I did and never got in. In any case, about the presales........ I understand how someone would feel cheated if they bought a ticket for ANYTHING, and didn't get to enjoy it. Clubbing events, however, don't quite follow the same rules as, say, the airlines, concerts, amusement parks, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is usually a time clearly stated (especially on wantickets) when you buy the tickets, that capacity can only be held until. Now, from my experience this is usually some rediculously early time like 11pm, but nevertheless, is still a predetermined time, after which NOBODY is guaranteed entry. I dont agree with how it works, but it is how it is. I personally feel that they should only presale a certain percentage of capacity so that all presales can get in, yet they could still open GA. Until I run my own nightclub, however, it probably wont work this way. As far as the shady, cash collecting bouncers are concerned, I wouldn't think LP would be too happy with how they're conducting business. I don't think any GA should be let in ahead of presales if both are in line. I admire that they offered passes to head over to Ferry Corsten that night, but I do think refunds should be awarded to anyone who never got in to parkwest.

It is sad & unfortunate for many who were unable to get in for what ever reason it was.
If indeed PArkWest was up to capacity.. They did make an effort to compensate whoever may want to go to the Ultra Afterparty for free. So they did try to resolve an issue at hand at that moment, but some unfortunately did not want that.
I let everyone know ahead of time that Fire Marshall would be out in full effect. Even at another venue besides parkWest Patt Mcgroin warned everyone that they were out.
Next year ne careful & try to get there as early as possible.

Its not important to me whats going on around me. What is important is that im with friends in the venue and not assed out like others. |
The venue wasn't even overpacked. The 2nd room was EMPTY.

. Yeah, I been trying to mention this as little as possible because it really puts a whole 'nother factor into the mix for people to be upset about. I think the fire marshall (if that was the case) needs to re-evaluate the capacity limit for this particular club. I could not believe how much room there was in the main room the entire night. There were times when almost nobody occupied the VIP area, yet there was still plenty of room to move on the dance floor. Now, normally I would have zero problem with this
, except for the fact that people were being kept from coming in for supposed safety reasons. From what I've heard about LP, he is a good business man who will address these concerns and hopefully create a much better situation next year.
at my lalwer lights out night - I didn't have any probs getting in actually. and I arrived at 12:30-1am.
I guess arriving early at any event kinda guarentees you access. common logic - same applies to space.
Everyone call your CC companies and do chargebacks...don't let them steal your money if u didn't get in. Doing this should put a hamper on their extorting ways for the future!
Wantickets has been very professional about this matter.
I got a refund w/o the fees , its not their fault i wasn't granted access into the club. I dont think the promoter is to blame either, Things went really smooth @ Space during the WMC and Management try to make things better by giving out bracelets to go to the carry on which was pretty good btw. Ferry Killed it so did George Acosta
Too many 18 year olds
We cannot hate on Parkwest because a couple of dickheads @ the door were accepting bribes and sneaking people through the back door.
(on second thought) if i was a bouncer or a door guy I would probably do the same thing "show me the money"
