6 pages of flaming.
less then 1 page of actual posts relating to the topic.

Anyway, I wonder what happened on that night, what the deal was?

I knew that Schossow did some stuff as deadrat but I didn't know if it was joking, as friends or actual beef and I didn't know that mau5 did the Mr.Black thing. I wonder what the full story behind this whole thing is.

I don't really mind either of them, to me they were both equal but from reading this, it is somewhat disconcerting and very bad PR for mau5, then again the only people who will hear about this / give two shits are the people on Internet forums such as this (which is a very very tiny percentage) so oh well.

Who cares. Keep on making tunes.

I suspect that Deadmau5 has the talent to make much better and more original stuff than he actually does.

Sometimes I wonder whether he's just having a big joke and seeing how long he can keep crowds lapping up bland, samey tracks.

Lets not make this yet another thread discussing the quality/originality (or possible lackthereof) of Deadmau5 tracks.

He will regret doing this pretty soon because he's already the most hated guy in trance and now this actually gives people a reason to hate him more.

but the thing is he's not even trance, he's progressive house like someone else already mentioned... as a producer, his tracks are definitely worth their place in your playlist if your into that type of music, but personally we cant really be sure what he's like in person until we actually run into him... like he could be costing his own business by behaving the way he does when he's supposed to be dj'ing, and its certainly spreading his reputation online for him... if i were in his position and had someone completely slander my tracks , i'd make it clear that i am making way more money from my tracks than the other person is with their so called productions, and that im not going to sink below their level

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of Joel but I thought I would add my 2 cents for what its worth. Joel and I became friends this past summer through a mutual friend and we hung out a dozen or so times. Is his sense of humor dry sometimes, ya. Does he say things sometimes that kinda made me laugh and shake my head, sure he did. But is he this giant asshole that people on message boards seem to get off on making him out to be? NOT AT ALL. Joel's a good guy and if i was in his postion in this whole mess I would have done the same thing. This Marcus guy publically slandered his tracks, mocked him on radio shows and basically got famous by using the Deadmau5 name in negative ways. I totally dont blame Joel at all for not wanting to play the same event as this guy!

The thread itself is sort of a flame, what else is there to discuss?

Posted by RebeL9 on Apr-05-2008 22:07:

how in the world can Deadmau5 be the most hated guy in trance when he don't produce trance? I smell a dead dog here.

Yes, but how much interacting would he really have to do in this show? All he's got to do is go up there and play his shitty music; he doesn't have to even look at that ginger ponce. If people paid money to see both of those wretched acts, then why is it he feels as though he can deprive those very people due to his own personal conflicts?

That's assuming that what has been stated as occurring actually did occur.

oh, and for what it's worth, here's what deadmau5 wrote on t.nu

what a thread of epic proportions... hahaha, i didnt actively do anything... actually. my management kinda thought it awkward that they'd have the "deadrat6" and myself in the same room... its not like i petitioned it... just following orders.

im over the whole d6 stuff, had a laugh, jokes over, lets move on.

im sure marcus is a swell chap, and his tunes stand on their own quite well, bit of a bummer things have to "leak out" like this from time to time... ah well, we all have our moments.

life goes on for both of us im sure.

scott bond can be added too. he was due to headline an event in hidden (london) around two years ago.. i'm not sure what the night was called. the problem with that club is it peaks around 12-1, and scott wasn't booked until 3:30 or thereabouts.. basically after turning up & seeing a less-than-half-full main room, he refused to play & fucked off.. although not before helping himself to several lines behind the dj booth (so i'm told)

www.underthesun.no

a statement from the arrangers:

quote:
Statement concerning Deadmau5 and Marcus Schossow at Kokkos on April 4th.

Many people are probably wondering on what happened with Marcus Schossow on the night of performance on Under The Sun at Kokkos with Deadmau5 - April 4th.
All we can say is that Schossow didnt play because of internal misunderstanding between the two respected artists managements.

We tried to find a solution but no good solution was found.

For those who want to see Marcus Schossow at Under The Sun we promise that a date will come shortly.

For final note: this event was a total success and was a dream start for our upcoming club events for the future. We hope that we will someday bring Deadmau5 back to us.

We apologize to all parts affected by this and for any inconvenience caused.

I would suppose that both of the artist managements will come out with a statement, there are obvious reasons why this happend. Sadly for the arranger they got in the middle of something where they didn't want to be.
I was going to meet up with Marcus, but he was nowhere to be found when i arrived the hotel at meetpoint. Havent heard from him since, but i think he have a great time in Poland or whever he was playing tonight/now

I like Deadmau5 and Schossow, I also think you should STFU.

Posted by Elec on Apr-06-2008 01:30:

So in the flyer Deadmau5 is made to appear as the headliner but yet they wanted Marcus to play after Deadmau5? Pretty stupid if true. Still, I would've been fuckin pissed if I was at that club.

Posted by Fledz on Apr-06-2008 01:37:

Pretty damn childish.

Funny.

I actually wonder why you bother to post in "omg commercialz tranzz0rz" threads. Nothing you ever say in those threads is relevent or interesting; just the same motonous-spouting drivel.

Back in 2001, Marco V was supposed to be playing at Gatecrasher, Republic - but he failed to turn up on time. When it was apparent that Marco wasn't coming, Les Hemstock, who was a regular attendee at the Republic at the time just so happened to be there and offered to play in Marco's place (actually, it was more of a 'pleeeeeeease let me play' type scenario - but that's another story.)

So, on the spur of the moment, he played a set out of Matt Hardwick's record bag, and in all fairness to him he was on fucking fire. Not soon after his set started Marco V turned up, and despite being ridiculously late he demanded that he go straight on. Ben Thompson (I think), GC promoter, told him he would have to wait and Marco basically said that if he wasn't put straight on he wouldn't play at all.

Quite rightly he was told to fuck off.

Nah, that had nothing to do with Schossow... Unfortunately, it had to do with me and I kinda regret thinking that people should give a damn, not gunna lie lol...
