You can't know there isn't a god, because to do so, you would have to be god (because you know everything in the universe). You don't know everything in the universe, so therefore, you don't know there isn't a god.

God can't be proven or disproven so all we can really say is...We don't know...which is where faith comes in for all beliefs on god. Atheists have faith there is no god, while religious folks have faith there is a god. Both ideologies are faiths.
