I don't know who may see this before everyone heads off for this, but I just had a couple of questions. Should we expect him to go on around midnight as with most djs? I know sometimes they seem to just go on whenever, just hoping for an estimate. I'm not sure if I will even have enough money to go, so I may be buying tickets at the door if I make it. I'm assuming they will charge more than the 15 dollars at the door?
And last question, last time I was at swerve people said I could park at Publix for free, do you just pull into the side there right across from the club? I don't want to have to worry about getting towed or anything. Thanks for any help you guys can give. Hope I can make it.

i creamed my panties!

Posted by Seppuku on Aug-09-2008 08:14:

That honestly wasn't bad...he played a nice varied selection of stuff. It kind of sucked at the beginning when he was playing the cheesey electro trash. But I enjoyed myself.

And nice meeting you, Sam. Haha.

Sounds like there were two shows to be seen last night.

So how was it... Tracklist???

Posted by abunch on Aug-09-2008 15:00:

"Hold me closer Tony Danza."

Awesome night, great set, epic hang over.

I really like WetBar. The sound system is sick and I like the outside patio. I also thought the drink prices were reasonable for an event like last nights. My only complaint is the glass that separates the DJ booth from the floor.

I also didn't love the beginning of his set but it got better as the night went on. I'm already looking forward to the next event @ Wetbar.

Back to ya', bro! Though I barely remember our conversation. Please forgive me for all the free alcohol.

wre you the guy i met at midcity when i was wasted?

I really highly enjoyed this. I thought he did a great job of kind of mixing it up a bit. What genres would you say he covered?
As far as a track list goes, I won't be able to be a whole lot of help.
There was some mix of Knights of Cydonia by Muse and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Of course he played many of his own productions and remixes. There were a few moments when I wasn't feeling the song, but that happens with pretty much everyone. Quite a bit of good stuff played though.
Good to see ya again Sam. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Earlier in the thread you said it would be hard for Deadmau5 to beat Steve Lawler for show of the year. Do you still stand by that?

Back to ya'!

And lol, I was thinking of quoting myself and correcting it just an hour ago. No. I no longer stand by Lawler being the show of the year.

I swear... it was just so fun to see everyone in Wetbar filling the place and all with smiles. Such a good night

Deadmau5 was awesome, but my crew experienced something that will x-list Swerve FOREVER.

That stupid dyke COP apparently told one of my friends to leave a bottle of water he had, and when my friend didn't (because he honestly didn't hear her), one of the bouncers JUMPED him, wrestled him to the ground, basically dislocated his shoulder, and arrested him. FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER!

Bong tried to go over and talk to the COP, basically just saying 'Hey, he's cool, he didn't hear you!" and they jumped him as well, DRAGGING him across the pavement! He has severe road rash on one arm, BLOOD ALL OVER HIS SHIRT, and asphalt EMBEDDED in his skin! We all witnessed it, and the dumb dyke bitch was trying to lie to our faces, saying they both assaulted an officer! Other than that, all she would say to any of us is "Want to go to jail? Want to go to jail?" There are also witnesses to her repeatedly throwing racial slurs toward Bong.

When I tried calling the club later to ask what police jurisdiction the stupid COP was from, they offered NO help!

If anyone else actually witnessed this, please send me a message, I'd like to talk with you. Needless to say, we're already speaking with attorneys.

Because this involved Swerve staff, myself, my 12+ friends in attendance, and various others who have heard of this incident WILL NOT return to this venue. There isn't actually a law that forbids carrying water out of a club, so they had NO RIGHT to physically harm people over it!

I'll post the pictures of Bong later, he looks like someone beat him up!

So this was on the way in? Like, he wasn't allowed to take the bottle of water into the club? Then all this happened and you all went in and listened to deadmau5

Just trying to get a timeline here.

Why wasn't he allowed to keep a water bottle on the way out of the club?

Good question, ask the stupid racist COP and the bouncer who assaulted him.
