Yves Deruyter

Yves began his DJ career 10 years ago, when he started building a formidable reputation for himself within the Belgium club scene. Yves regularly played at a selection of famous venues, including, Extreme, Barocci, Globe and of course Cherrymoon, where Yves now holds a residency. His sharp, unique sound propelled him into the limelight, before he had even had the chance to embark on his production career.

Yves was one of the first artists to sign to Lightning Records, the mother company of Bonzai. Immediately he hit success, with his first single, Animals, that took Belgium by storm. People now began to take a lot of notice of Yves, and watched out for him at the major raves, such as: May Day, Energy and Nature One.

His second single, Rave City, made Yves huge in Germany, as it sold over 50,000 copies; and the follow up, Calling Earth was another huge success, selling over 70,000. However the tune that really put Yves on the international scene was The Rebel, alongside his first album, The D-Album. The YDR sound had become global.

Yves produced alongside the man behind Push, M.I.K.E. Which culminated in the huge trance smash, To The Rhythm, caned by the vast majority of British DJs, and hitting dozens of compilations. Other records followed, such as Factor-Y and more recently, the huge club hit, Back To Earth.

His tough tech-trance sound has seen him DJ across the world, from Gatecrasher, to the Berlin Love Parade. Yvess production is now ranking with the most accomplished in the world, and the European market cant get enough. He has already established himself as Belgiums premier DJ, and now hes aiming for Europes top spot. Remember Yves is a DJ, before a producer. He can rock clubs just as well as he can make records.

Yves is now playing regularly across the UK, rocking clubs such as Gatecrasher, Slinky, Inside Out, Passion and Promise.

Expect to see him even more in 2002, with a new array of Deruyter style mind blowing tunes, heading your way.

Pulser

If you have been anywhere near a major club in the last 4 years, chances are you have got off your nut to a track written, remixed or produced by Andy Perring.

1999 saw Spiritualised by THE OLMEC HEADS released on Neo Records. The track was a huge hit with all the major-league DJs. Alex Gold of Extravaganza Records described Spiritualised as The Biggest tune heard at Privilege in Ibiza throughout 99.

The Olmec Heads, followed up with a string of top remixes for artists such as Moby, Apollo 440 and The Space Brothers before releasing their follow-up, a menacing trance tune called Magicman.

During this period Andy branched out and created PULSER. The first track under his new guise was CLOUDWALKING, released on fledgling UK label ATCR. Cloudwalking again smashed it and established Pulser as a major new name in Trance. Pulsers second outing LIGHTWAVE was on Andys own label Activation Records and achieved fantastic exposure for the new imprint, making several major dance compilations around the world.

Never one to stand still, Andy is also one half of INSIGMA alongside Steve Helstrip of The Thrillseekers. Insigmas first release also titled Insigma hit the mark with Pete Tong who played it week in, week out on Radio One. Mixing driving progressive trance rhythms with blissed-out melodies, Insigmas follow up Open our Eyes is pure dynamite, the fuse of which was lit by Paul Oakenfold and DJ Tiesto. Both DJs have continued to support the record since its initial promos were released in Jan 2001. VC records have since snapped it up and will unleash the new vocal mixes early 2002 and if 25,000 people at this years Gatecrashers Summer Sound System are anything to go by, it is set to become one of 2002s biggest Anthems.

Andy has also teamed up with writer Danny Kirsch, responsible for several top 40 tracks including the Top 10 track by Lange- Drifting Away. The act is entitled Sacred and have already been snapped up by BMG Publishing.

Finding time for Djing with such a heavy studio schedule can be difficult, but Andy can also be found out and about on the 1s and 2s. Confirmed gigs for 2002 include Luners (Japan), Red (Cyprus), Plaza Of Nations (Vancouver), Devoted To Trance (Finland), Agent 05 (Finland) and his residency Illusions (Finland.) Andy is also planning to increase his DJing activities and has secured high profile slots at some of UKs most prestigious club/festivals. Andy is equally at home warming up or smashing it with his main sets, Andy can appeal to many different floors whilst remaining an inventive and original DJ.

Looking forward to 2002, Andy will be releasing a new PULSER single in the spring. His remixes continue to dominate the floors of Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and Passion, with current monsters including JOSE AMNESIAs THE ETERNAL and his dark & tribal mix of MATT DAREYs classic BEAUTIFUL, which has just received the accolade of being made Judge Jules Tried and Tested tune. Future remixes include FAITHLESS -DRIFTING AWAY and he is just about start remixing the new DIDO single, from her new album.

TranceAddict Meetup

Ok, I have heard (read) a lot about a big TA meetup/camp area at WEMF 2K2, but haven't heard where.

So, I've taken the venue map from WEMF's site, and added a big TA Area box to it.

It's AREA W.

(No, AREA W is not on the official WEMF map, but pass this map around to your friends and family if you want. ).

If there's a different TA location, and I'm just totally out of the loop, please feel free to politely, or rudely let me know.

Aaron.

Some common WEMF questions

I emailed [email protected] and posed a few questions that a lot of you/us were thinking about asking.

So here they are, with the answers. To simplify things, every answer is "Yes." (So you don't need to read every answer if you don't want to.)

-------------------------------------------

Q Are we allowed to bring food into WEMF?
A Yes

--

Q Can we bring in cooking devices (like small propane barbecues)?
A Yes

--

Q Do we have access to our vehicles (IE, in/out privileges)?
A Yes

--

Q Do our vehicles have in/out privileges?
A Yes

--

Q Can we bring in coolers filled with pop?
A Yes

------------------------------------------------

If I've helped at least 1/8th of a person, it was worth it.

I agree that it will fill up immediately, because it's the best spot. That's why I want it there.. I think TranceAddicts deserve the best spot.

I could add a secondary spot, for the "I couldn't get here early enough" TranceAddicts.

Q: Can we bring in botteled water individually, instead of bringing it in in an unopened case?
A:????

Posted by DJOS2 on Jul-24-2002 22:50:

As long as its sealed - any partially finished bottles are junked...

reason - booze in the bottles (vodka, gin, etc)
- drugs in the bottles - ghb, etc...

ok, cool... so your saying that if i brought in 15 un-opened bottles of water in a cooler full of ice, then there won't be any problem then??
