Well, I agree, but they have not so perfect defensive. Boulahrouz is hammer, but all other are rather as a attacker-support, defensive play did not smell good for Oranjes.... Okay, but look at another teams and theirs defensive.

Your right, Holland's defence still look as shaky as an epileptic in a nightclub, but when you've got so many attacking options, who needs one when your always going to score.

Mind you. I still have reservations about what kind of team they'd be if they fell behind and had to attack instead of counter-attack all the time.

As far it's not a 4-1 by italy we don't care that was a pleasant match, thank you holland for showing us what football is.

Right! Oranjes are creative playing kids, not defensive specialists! In this point are for example Germans better. But when you score 3 or 4 goals and have Edwin van der Saar, you should only hardly loss.

Yeah Van Der Sar is a monster of a man, wouldn't like to meet him in a dark alley I tell you. Still a great keeper at the tender age of 38

I told you. Best player in the world

Posted by Fraz on Jun-13-2008 22:30:

It is safe to say that France were just destroyed!

Thats the first game of the championships that I have really enjoyed - the rest have been pretty damn boring (except the farce that was the rather wet Switzerland game!).

Looking at the game today the Dutch and Spain need to go all the way!

F.

No Dutchie could've dreamt having France or Italy's fate in their hands!

Good result for the Netherlands ofcourse, but I'm still not convinced they're going to win the title. Untill now they always had all the luck on their side. I'd like to see how they react when they come behind, or when it becomes 1-1 in stead of 2-0.

In this match they especially couldn't convince me in the first half. France was technically the better side of the two and Holland needed a lot of fauls to stop them. But thanks to the early goal they could really take things slow. France had most of the chances before half time and it could have been a total different score than the 1-0.
In the second half I thought France still started ok but after the 2-0 it was practically over for them. They still managed to score the 2-1 but Robben could score a brilliant one and finish them off compeletly (but I have to say, really weak defending by Thuram). If you give them the space to play they can really to some damage ... with a 4-1 as result in this match

Second and third goals were amazing. Did Nistelrooy pass to himself before assisting RVP with that shot? So awesome!

You mean the one where he swivelled on the touchline and flicked it through to Robben to run into the 18 year box with, picking out RVP?

Sweet goal.

Sneider's 4th goal was a beast though. Up there with Ibrahimovic for the best shot of the tourney so far.

It's a piece of skill called the roulette. Zidane used to do it all the time, so it's a little ironic to see it used so well against the French.

Ah ok, I couldn't remember if Robben got the assist or Nistelrooy. I thought Nistelrooy actually managed to save it on the touchline, then recover it and pass to RVP.

Awesome move.

insane game. france was simply outplayed. they had a few chances and it might have been a different game had henry scored that volley but the fact remains netherlands are on fire!! i thought italy was just a weaker team when they faced them but that is not the case, if there is a favorite right now its definetly them. alas i think they will tie romania and france will beat italy and make it to the next round. the forthcoming matchup for this group is judgemend day for france

also ive never said this because ive liked domenech's choices however contraversial they seemed to be up until now but hes an absolute idiot for putting in Gomis instead of benzema or even nasri. ridiculous choice.

Domenech is an idiot for putting in Gomis and ANELKA over Benzema. Gomis isn't ready yet. Anelka just sucks balls. Granted I was really happy at the 4-1 win, I still can't figure that out.

yep not to mention not even having trezeguet as a selection (due to personal disputes).

Posted by bas on Jun-14-2008 07:12:

Same thoughts about Benzema. I can't stand Anelka, fucking twat and a terrible player.

agreed. i dont know what the hell hes doing on the squad.

Posted by FCB_Fanatic on Jun-14-2008 11:16:

silly choice to leave Trezeguet (who scored about 20 goals in Italy) out of the selection. Still is a great player and could really have done something for France now

Posted by Siesta on Jun-14-2008 11:20:

we've been a bit lucky. But so many times at important plays we ware so unlucky We deserve to have luck

But Holland is a team, France and Italy weren't.
