Wrong. Australia was for convicts but also for minor crimes which means that a large portion weren't idiots. America on the other hand was the dumping ground for the worlds largest population of total nutjobs and rednecks where they were free to spawn and tote their shitty gun laws around without hurting anyone else. one of the reasons australia was colonised was because the british had lost the war of independence and needed somewhere else to send their criminals.
