Torres booked. Shouldn't take too long until Aragonés swaps him for Guiza.

haha perfect

scarily, germany aren't showing much going forwards, but until it's over you can never count them out. Spain have bassed the game though using their excellent midfield + full backs. Hoping it stays at this so I win some money only £7 (i only had a quid spare by the time i saw the option of this one) but it'll do

Congrats Spain!

Lehmann too!

Gracias España, I win money, best team wins the tournament for once.

Posted by noikeee on Jun-29-2008 20:40:

As I've said many times, I don't like Spain, but this was a deserved win. 1-0 even is too small of a scoreline after a game like this.

Germany, apart from some short bursts of attacking football, was absolutely lost.

After watching the whole game I'd give the MOM award to Xavi, but it's hard to single out a key player in Spain. The team just clicked perfectly together. That goes for the whole tournament.

Hard to pick out a "best player" of the competition too.

Germany was über shit today. Terrible game by the whole team (especially Jensen and the forwards)

Exactly why they won. Team effort. No Madrid/Barca arguing. They played as a team and even with Marchena in the back four, who as a valencia fan, I wonder how they did ok. Delighted for them. Would've been lovely to have had the dutch in the final as the best two teams from the tournament, but that couldn't have happened. Turkey would've given so much more than deutschland did though.

Ha ha they got Pirates of the Caribbean theme going on now. How seriously gay. Stadium music has been lame this year.

beautiful to see Sergio Ramos with an Antonio Puerta t-shirt on. From such a horrible start to the season, a brilliant ending for spanish football.

It was a weird championship, on one side of the bracket we had the "best team of the tournament" Holland, who disappeared from the field and got beat by "best team of the tournament" Russia, who disappeared from the field and got beat by the actual best team, Spain.

On the other side of the bracket, the teams were just weaker IMO, Croatia was unconvincing to me, Turkey had willpower and luck and little else, we (Portugal) were the best from this side IMO but proved to have some pretty big holes in our organization as well, and Germany just went through on luck and ugly efficiency. Glad their luck ran out at the end and a good team won.

we played like shit. its sad when jansen looked like the best player on our team. none of our passes worked. spains did. they won the midfield battle. what more can i say...

congrats spain.

Was just about to mention that also.

Very classy from Ramos seeing him honoring Puerta, I have to admit.

Alot more to life than football.

Respect.

I rated both portugal and croatia along with the dutch & the spanish as the best 4 pre-tournament. You were shown up without a good left-back and lacking a striker with the quality that Pauleta had, that Nuno Gomes showed in Euro 2000 etc.

Ah didnt know that, thought he was madridista all the way.

Just saw the replay on BBC from the Silva headbutt, seems like Podolski simply came very close with his head but no real movement. Should've been a red for Silva and yellow for Podolski for provoking.

Spain were simply brilliant, and it aint easy playing brilliantly against the Germans ... well.. except when they play as crappy as tonight i guess.

Have to mention Iniesta though, so great to see players who can keep a ball and overtake men in midfield.

And Senna off course, he allowed the entire team to play the way they did.

OLE!!

I'm so happy right now! VIVA ESPAÑA!!!
