-- Stereo on FIRE!! Literally!
Pages (8): « 1 2 3 [4] 5 6 7 8 »
everyone was probably thinking that stereo seems to be a sound organization. i did as well. only for a moment. think again everyone, this is a club. these types of businesses can be very lucrative but at the same time can be devastating. operating costs for clubs and especially afterhours are huge. permits, staff, bookings, rent for the space. the amount of things a club needs to stay on top of is retarded. not surprised to hear stereo's has run themselves into that much debt.
its a shame really. unless we put clubs into public hands which would be pretty funny.
im making a pretty good assumption that stereo has property insurance. my prediction is they'll pay off the debt with the insurance claim and everything and everyone affiliated with the club will part ways. its sucks but its business in the end.

Let's see where this goes but as ~*Stereohead*~ said it's one of the 2 reasons, either it's insurance fraude or arson but the public and specially the the creditors are not fools, tomorrow we can probably get an explanation from the fire departement on how the fire started exactly.
Wow, this really was the last thing I thought I'd see when checking TA...
does David Morales still own Stereo?

it doesn't matter what it says on that piece of paper, he is still the majority owner. he is not playing right now as he spends the summers in europe.
I don't want to be rude, but fckn Ferry should be the least of our concerns.
We are talking about most certainly a criminal fire, loosing a club that met the highest standards in world clubbing and had an important role into promoting EDM in Montreal. Staff, owners, bookers, promoters, and more than 15 Djs loosing their home and their jobs.
I mean, who gives a shit if Ferry is postponed. And I would say the same thing for any other DJ, including me loosing my gig with Maher.
Let's just keep our fingers crossed that it will be just temporarely shut down.

seems like there has been a spike in crime in Montreal lately. Is this the case? Ever since all the cars were set on fire and those riots, seems like a lot of crazy shit been happening up there. I read that someone put a gun in the face of a priest or something as they robbed a church the other day?
how coincidental
weeirrddd
hopefully it can bounce back

| Originally posted by DiskHO thank god this didnt happen on a sat night. one of my funniest memories of stereo was being there on a saturday night when one of the fire alarms went off. the fire men came inside but all the shirtless wonders were just dancing around them like they were part of the show. they even had axes out. after that it became mandatory that when the alarms went off the music would also cut out. so once again, lets all be thankful that it went down this way and not full of people. |
