I've never done the whole VIP thing, but I thought this may be a good show to try and make it up by the booth. Will it be the $20 I've heard mentioned before? I hope it's not anywhere near 200 or whatever it was for Tiesto.

Liquified, so is Markus Schulz playing for 3.5 or 4 hours?

Seems like Markus Schulz himself isn't entirely sure, either? I just asked him in the #GDJB channel on MixxNet IRC, and he said he was also anticipating a long set, but he's waiting on an itinerary from his agency.

Hmm, that's interesting. Well, I hope he does play the 4 hours. Either way, I think this will be show of the year, but that would pretty much put it in the books. By the way, that's awesome you actually asked him.

Sounds good to me. I don't have a problem with vocals. You had mentioned that set being recorded. Any idea where we could find that?

On a separate note, I was looking at the first page, and I noticed that "special guest TBA." Who's the special guest going to be?

So seriously, will it be 4 hours? Who is the special guest going to be? Not that any of that will determine whether I will go or not, I just think everyone would like to know!

Has a special guest ever been "special"?

Probably kazell or something like that.

Ehhh...I really hope he changes it up from that set, there are a few nice ones in there but indeed way too much vocal fluff.

Should be a fun show regardless, I'll be there.

I don't think that list is the entire playlist, my friend went to that show and mentioned a couple of songs that aren't on there. As well, I've seen a couple of youtube vids with songs of that night not on that list.

Markus plays a really balanced set. He goes where the crowd takes him. He plays a few proggy tracks at first and then builds into Trance and then feels the crowd out.

Wouldn't worry about too much vocal trance...unless we go crazy when vocal tracks come up, I don't see him playing too much.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with vocals, but maybe if everyone in the room isn't singing along, he won't add anymore than necessary. I can't help but shake my head every time I see the crowd singing along to Anthem or some other terrible vocal track. There's good vocal tracks and then there's the bad ones. I'm not sure why these djs are playing that OneRepublic-Apologize remix though. Armin played it as well. It does seem like Markus plays a really balanced set, so there will be something for everyone.

i hope he doesn't play anthem. the vocals are terrible!

Posted by trancension on Sep-18-2008 08:01:

PvD is the only one still playing anthem I think

And I think the only overplayed vocal tracks Markus has been playing have been Big Sky and Perfect. And I hope he plays Perfect, any remix works, cause I love that song.

Posted by Liquified on Sep-18-2008 12:50:

Markus will go on at 11:30 tonight! See everyone there.

uhhhh... i dunno what drugs your friend was on. but thats the playlist. i was there, and have the youtube videos to match the playlist. he MAY have played 2-3 tracks after the recording ended. markus came on at 1:30, and mansion closed down at 4:45. the set only being 2:59:00 so thats 15 mins difference. i left at like 4:20 and the last 4 tracks on the tracklist i didnt hear.

either way though... you will all have a blast. markus live is such win.

I like Perfect a lot too. Hope he plays it. Actually, a lot of his vocal tracks are great in my book. Cause You Know, Without You Near, Never be the Same, I'd love to hear all those.

Great to hear we get a 3 and a half hour set from him. That will be great. I've been listening to that set from Miami a few days ago and it's gotten me even more pumped about this.
