43. I.D (During the Fight)

I am interested to hear what happen here...

Amazing!!!!

My opinion:

VENUE - It was lame. The venue sucked ass for this type of event. The sound was only good right in front of the speakers and dealing with the crowd in those areas was unbearable. Central Park was a million times better because there was more room horizontally. Trips to the bathrooms and to get drinks were a PAIN IN THE ASS. We eventually just migrated to the back for easier access to these areas but the sound was horrible in the back. I agree that scenery was awesome.......watching the sun set behind the stage was amazing.....but that was the only positive thing I got out of this venue.

Paul's set - It was ok. Nothing very special. I've def experienced much better performances out of Paul in the past. He played some great tracks but also some ones that made me wanna cringe. You could tell he was trying to do some pretty cool stuff with the music but it just didn't work because of the bad sound. The highlight of his set for me was Murder was the Base.....I could hear this track every time I went out and it would still get me dancing.

oh and I hope Made Events gets their Central Park permit back for next year....... [/QUOTE]

I have to agree with this. ^^

The venue sucked and PvD really didnt deliver like he has in the past at a new venue. I was pretty dissapointed with the set and the only thing that made it fun was the people and the scenery. Great sunset . Bad set up. Based on his set at the pier I decided not to go to WH.
DONE WITH PVD. HE JUST DOSENT CUT IT ANYMORE!!

Waiting for Ferry

Its a problem with the recording. I was listening to it right after the pier on the way home to change for WH. It start two hrs after he came on at 7pm, It was worse then. Sirius sounded like they had 4 diffrent tracks un mixed over the top of it. You couldnt even listen to it. I guesse they fixed it the best they could..

I was really down on the set when I left, but after hearing the Sirius broadcast (minus the annoying skipping), I'm thinking it was more the crappy sound than the actual set. Lots of amazing tracks, and mixing/programming is way better than I remember hearing.

I thought the exact same thing. When I sat and listened to it all over again it was so much better than i remeber.

excellent 6.6

...

I thought his mixing was pretty clean at the pier, completely ruling out the fact that I was more than half way into the pier and everything was muffled so much you we're getting the vocals and drops after they were actually supposed to hit - oh well.

I have too much work related shit to do for the next few days, but I'll post my pics and vids this weekend.

I liked partying outdoor, but I gotta say it wasn't the best venue I'd been to. I see most people agree with me on this one
I didn't really enjoy the music to the fullest either. It was pretty much meh for the most part. There were a few moments here and there that got my blood pumping, but most of the night was (as Kelly calls it) the Penguin dance!

Nice meeting a whole wack of you mofos. You boys and girls better remember to look me up when you're up here to party
ciao

I disagree. After browsing through the set again I kept asking myself......."what is this crap?" ehhhhhhhh It really was the people that I was with that made the night fun. His set last year was 10 times better than this year. I remember smiling the entire time last year and everybody was going nuts as I was taking pics up front. Doesn't even compare to this year's set.

Posted by thebigmancino on Aug-22-2008 17:03:

you can't blame the greatness of this set on people's pills I didn't take any and I thought his set was pretty good.. anyone listen to it recorded?

Posted by Wowjimmy on Aug-23-2008 02:51:

Some Pics I took

Here are some pics I took. Some of the crowd shots will appear in a new magazine called Hudson Night Life that will premiere in November.

the recorded Sirius set seems as though it is constantly skipping - does anyone else agree?

nevertheless, listening to this set - it's just not the same as the sets I remember from Roxy ..

No I agree, last year's set was way better -- both days actually. But I do dig this year's set after listening to it on Sirius more than when I was actually there.

listening to the sirius broadcast...the set is definitely a lot better than i remember it. maybe it's because i can hear it! pier 54 was an awful venue.
