I made this one up (Greek derivatives) to accurately describe a friend of mine who bailed on a party.

Kataphage
(kat-ah-fay-ge)
It sounds like 'cat-a-page'

From the Greek words
katapore�, meaning 'failure'
phage, meaning 'to eat'

Meanings:

To eat one's own failure
To be screwed over by one's own mistake or error
A person who fails horribly, in public view (slang)
Collossal failure too overt to be hidden, usually leading to scorn or derision

Uses:

Jamie, you kataphage!
Jamie walked right into that kataphage.
Jamie's about to kataphage in a big way

I swear I just made that up. Those are really the greek words, but this is a bone-fide newly coined word.
