MJQ?
a) as far as I know, thier technology is still prehistoric in the sense you can't use credit cards.
b) 4/5 times I've been there they only have one working toilet, usually in the men's room.
c) have you ever been there when it's raining?
I'd almost recommend Masquerade, but they seem adamant on refusing sound upgrades.
I really think Compound is a good idea. If they're only open for "private" events, booking EDM shows shouldn't attract the old crowd. It's a good venue... currently, it's going to waste.

They temporarily closed down, but they still have an active website and I've known a few random events to pop up there. Fairly recently I was told about a party VIPNightlife/Elev8 did there involving "The World of Bacardi" or something. It's been within the last few months.
Compound's setup is not made for a big name...the dj doesnt want to be on the same level as the crowd in a huge room that sux...plus who wants to go to a show be in the back and not see anything but a few crappy tvs on the wall..their audio isn't that great either. I think if Fever does things right they have the best setup at this time for shows.

I was there. It was a pretty good show. I ended up piss drunk/sick toward the end, though. But I do recall having a blast
The issue with Fever, dude, is that it's in no way operating. Compound is.
You're not on the same level as the DJ, either, unless you stand up on one of those tables/podiums/whatever. It may have just been SLIGHTLY lower that the WetBar booth is to the floor.
Besides... I remember back in the day where the DJ at eleven50 would be right there, close enough to touch them. Armin and Ferry Corsten, and I think maybe even ... shit, I forgot, but a LOT of DJ's (even big names) used to do that.
Yea..I have been in the booth there as well as being on the floor..its nothing special and besides that the sound is not that great there. I know what you mean about eleven50 too when they used to play on the stage part that you could go up on but even that was still at a higher level. Fever is supposed to be back pretty soon too and the only big name I have actually seen at fever was Dubfire (Ali) and that show was amazing...it fealt like you were in another city and actually an enjoyable atmosphere plus the place was packed could barely move. They also have vjs along with lighting people there and their sound system is pretty decent. Tbh I don't really care where it is as long as the sound is good and that is my number one complaint with this city..wetbar was good and now it is over.

Well what about the big shows I miss them like North Atlanta Trade Center and The Tabernacle them shits was awesome and they always packed out.
I agree now that I think about it that Compound is a good idea too...I was at that ATB show. I went to Groovefest and stuff there as well....I think that room is a great place for a dj to spin. Just make it a little darker...

| Originally posted by PVDfan07 Well, I've never been there myself. Didn't know anything about it besides seeing that ATB had played there a few years back. What's the problem with djs being on the same level as the crowd? By the way, I looked up that show there. Did anyone on here happen to go? It was back in 05. Evidently it was his first time in Atlanta. I guess he didn't like the venue or something, he hasn't been back to Atlanta since as far as I know. lol |

Let me see if I can find any of our photos. With regards to the ATB show it was pretty crazy, especially with his entourage after the show when everyone left. |
