what i find funny is that he makes a comment on how a high end italian suit is not "vented".

wear a fucking fishing net lol.

Nothing worse than a man in a cheap suit and people knowing it's cheap.

Suits should be one of the pieces of clothing you spend that extra dollar on.

Men in suits

Men in suits

that is a myth.

with a good tailor a lower priced suit can look great. It all depends on the material.

i paid 200$ for a custom made suit in seoul and it is nicer than the most expensive suit i have.

Posted by JD8180 on Oct-07-2008 04:27:

but going for that "extra dollar" suit could easily mean a few grand. As long as the suit fits your shape well, then you should be fine. You don't need that extra venting material to look sharp.

Actually yeah you're not the first person I've heard say this.

Posted by Frenchie on Oct-07-2008 04:32:

Maybe over THERE, not that i've seen here.

Posted by elFreak on Oct-07-2008 04:34:

look further than moores. You can have a tailor make you something exactly like a designer suit, and the only thing missing is the designer's label.

same fabric...less than 1/3 of the price.

buy off the rack and get fucked.

Posted by whiskers on Oct-07-2008 04:38:

yeah, so why are suits supposed to be so expensive?

Mine was basically an off the rack affair, I just took it to get tailored after the fact.

Everything fits proper as fuck.

Edit: And all of my "suit shirts" are definitely tailored to fit as well. Granted, that's like four shirts - still, I'm trying

Posted by elFreak on Oct-07-2008 05:17:

it is in relation to designer suits that cost thousands vs paying a few hundred for an almost identical replica rob.

not being able to buy stuff off the rack (i can it just is a bitch) has taught me a few tricks to save.

you pay top dollar for the material...but most of the mark up on high end clothes is for no reason other than the label it bears.

Posted by jupiterone on Oct-07-2008 05:17:

suits make me feel like a fuckin gambino

Posted by L.E.N. on Oct-07-2008 05:19:

As long as its tailored well. Otherwise it looks like a mess.

Posted by elFreak on Oct-07-2008 05:22:

don't let anyone but an asian man or the old italian who grabs your balls every time he mesures for the in seam touch it and it should be tailored well.

let a black guy touch it and you will look like steve fucking harvey.

i have a friend who has that done in hong kong, i'm so jealous. another person i know her boyfriend knows this guy who flies into nyc ever couple months and takes measurements then goes back to hong kong and ships him a couple custom suits for "cheap." another friend of mine got awesome cheap suits in argentina. i believe it can be done. i don't believe in paying an arm and a leg for a suit BUT its got to look good. no cheap / crap material and nicely cut.

personally i only like timeless looking suits and i'll buy from off the rack at nordstrom / nordstrom rack, i've never HAD to really be dressed in a suit all the time so i can slowly go through and pick things up here and there.

Posted by elFreak on Oct-07-2008 05:43:

the quality of tailors in asia is extremely high. The only thing you have to watch out for is them not giving you the same material you asked for. If you are not vigilant, some of them will try and up their profits by switching for a similar, cheaper material while hoping you do not notice.

mainland china is miles cheaper than hong kong.

It is inevitable...

Posted by wesleysnipez on Oct-07-2008 06:34:

Here I got 2 suits in my closest. Actually 3 if you count suit I wore for my wedding lol. I fixed My error and all just as person below me posted it and all with in minutes lol.

Just got this last summer when me and wife went Las Vegas at Armani store. I had to get suit and she had find a nice dress.

she had to get this

I'd like a nice suit for once. Somewhere after the 400th day of wearing pajamas to work, the idea of looking nice for some purpose becomes appealing.

Still, I can totally imagine it being a bit stifling wearing a suit day in and day out. Last time I wore a tux I could barely drive the car.

i wear a suit and tie everyday to class

I did that last week. Instead of jeans and a tee I threw on my nice stuff. I didnt wear a coat though, because it was 100 degrees out. I dont think Ill ever forget how to tie a tie. Its funny how much more respect you get when your suited up.

Awesome suits, awesome value.

Nice little monograms on the shirts, too!

I won't get into an argument with anyone here, it's pointless. People don't like to be told what to wear, but honestly I'm curious. What do you guys consider to be classic? There's nothing more classic than a slim fitted italian suit with a narrow tie. To me it just sounds like a bunch of guys in here just think they know what a good suit looks like and don't like to be told otherwise.

like srsly..
