I think -12 points in the paint

ONeal and Kapono blew chunks offensive for sure. That last Kapono shot with like 6 secs to go. UGLY

"maybe we should retire vince's number..." Com'on!!!!

As for his new-guy, he's dull, and he sucks too, but less than chuck. Give me TNT broadcasts, or even better, just some nice courtside mics so I can hear some sam cassell trash-talk.

I'm with you on this one bro...altho i didnt hate Chuck he was def annoying at times...and quite often.

Tough loss to the Iverson-less Pistons, but Detroit is clearly a better team.
I'm still waitin and anxious to see how the Raps'll be once O'Neal gets going.
Def one of the top teams in the East.

I know it was on at 2am last night, but did anyone check the end of the rockets-blazers game last night?

Whoa!
Roy-Yao-Roy for the Blazer win!

that was pure insanity! I still don't get how 1.9 seconds can yield two shots, haha...total bullshit. I know it conforms to the "technical" rules of how long it takes to get a shot off, but I don't even think Yao got his off in the time remaining, nevermind the b.s. foul, nevermind Roy getting a shot after that.

whatever...it was fun to watch and that was pure redemption for Roy's foul on Yao.

a huge LOL @ Barkley during the half-time report and after the game. I love him on late-night games. he's always drunky-goofy, but this time was particularly nuts.

what was it that he kept slurring up...barn burner? "barn barner" LOL! the way he was repeatedly ripping the "turrible" defense was f'n hillarious too.

I would love to get wasted with Charles and watch some games, hahaha. The rare times he sits in to provide colour commentary during a game are gold too.

That Houston-Portland finale was insane. Highlights on NBA.com for those that haven't seen it.

Edit: watching that over. McGrady really f'ed up on the final play. By the time he started running after Brandon Roy the guy was already getting the ball in his hands. Too slow, Tracy. Too slow

Chuck's the man, like a Black Don Cherry for basketball. He's the comical engine that drives the TNT crew, and a large part of the reason why they're the best network for watching the NBA.

Love the commentary on the halftime shows, especially that guy who was forcing himself through a toilet seat.

Jesus holy fuck, we suck. Honestly, perimeter defense is killing us. Bosh, O'Neal and Bargs are playing like demons, but with the revolving door defense on the outside, we can't stop anyone. It's so aggravating to watch, lateral quickness is not a talent like jumpshooting or ballhandling. It's just a factor of intensity and fitness, and our wing players are lacking both.

Posted by jon jon on Nov-16-2008 18:19:

so there is a game on right now but because I don't have BELL (TSN2) I can't see it.

How fucking stupid is that...

Posted by Yohan on Nov-19-2008 01:42:

My god this game is so frustrating to watch

You really see how valuable Calderon is

Posted by Yohan on Nov-19-2008 02:11:

my god i love bosh

Posted by slingshot on Nov-19-2008 02:14:

god I hate our backup pg's....they're brutal.

at least we just made that 3.

Posted by Yohan on Nov-19-2008 02:24:

crazy turnovers killed the raps

if it wasn't for bosh playing like superhero, the game would have been over on 3rd quarter

so useless shooting jumpers. ugh
and way too many plays that looked like something out of high school

Posted by Sly_Guy on Nov-19-2008 02:26:

this keeps up, I see big changes in toronto. We've got 2 top 5 3-point shooters in our lineup and can't keep the defense honest?

Yikes.

it's the point guards dude....they're brutal....solomon runs around like a chicken with his head cut off...his decision making is horrible and he doesn't run an offence at all...he makes the entry pass (sometimes) and the raps have to rely on 1 on 1 play to get baskets...ukic same deal....except he holds on to the ball for wayyyyyy too long.....this could be a long season man, for some reason I don't see this backup pg situation improving much...we need jose back ASAP.

that's what you get for two rookies as backup PG. though I see a lot of potential in Ukic.

Remember, Calderon used to be pretty terrible too, except he knew how to pass even as a rookie

ukic can't....he has no shot...any team who's smart is just going to front the rest of the guys and take away the pass....they won't allow him to even get the offense going....he doesn't have anything close to the skill level needed to be able to create things on his own and navigate around that....I think he'll be good eventually....but eventually is like 2-3 years down the road....Calderon was quite a bit better than him coming in IMO....he had the international experience with Spain which helped huge...Ukic has nothing and it's pretty evident.

Calderon had pretty crappy shot coming too. So yeah, Ukic will turn decent few yrs down the road.

It's going to be a long season without calderon... I smell a trade down the line for a back up PG. Though problem with back up PG is that anyone who's half decent wants starter mins

you know your team is playing bad when the tv broadcaster is saying, 'what are you doing?' when your PG makes another bonehead play

hilarious

Posted by Sly_Guy on Nov-19-2008 02:52:

I admit, our PGs have been really bad. 20+ turnovers for a team that usually averages 11? Jose must be out.

But I'm just trying to place blame on the wings too, you have to admit, they've also been pretty lacklustre/inconsistent/general crappiness since game 1.

Posted by Pett on Nov-19-2008 06:29:

the raps bench is atrocious, we need big help at deadline time hopefully some moves will be made. Swollowman and ukid aint cutting it.

I feel sorry for D Wade this season. He is going nuts (more than usual), high flyers, and massive PPG, but a 6-6 record. If only show time jams were directly related to wins.

fuck dwade. I wonder how good he'd be if the ref's weren't on his side all the time

Posted by Orko on Nov-20-2008 06:00:

Are you talking about the carrying or walking that most players like him are critised for?
