i'm glad i got drunk at the warriors game and decided to head out, it ended up being a fun night amongst friends. i thought it was cool when randy got on the mic and mc'd for darude. something that almost never happens at ruby and it really did fire up the crowd.

I ended up playing Lyndsay's CDs for 4 hours. You prob dobn't care, but it was actually my first time really using CDJs...Well since like 2001, but those weren't pioneers. I think I did OK. Probably better than most people who are starting up a CDJ for the first time (and have no vinyl experience). I actually really, really liked playing with CDs. Damnit, someone buy me some CDJs!

Wow, what an amazing night! I really want to thank all of you who came out, i know i had an amazing time, and i believe i can speak for Darude as well, that he was blown away with everyone there. These pictures really capture the moment, the place was fired up!!! Ruby Skye is an amazing venue, and of course Spundae always does it proper. I will have all the pictures up on my site by the end of the week. Don't know if anyone wants to take the ride, but Darude & I will be playing in LA this Saturday. The tour has been amazing, and thank you so much for all the kind words and support! Hope to see you all very soon!

Killer night of music! Randy's opener flowed great into Darude's banging trance set. First time I've seen Darude and he definitely impressed me, great energy. The topper of the night was Taj closing Ruby out Glad he got switched to close because he got to unleash!

Funniest part of the night was a bunch of us around the corner from Ruby by Lyndsay's car with the doors open blasting this "I wanna fuck you in the ass" song by Kyau & Albert dancing in the streets. People walking by would start dancing with us, even this old couple who had their lightup bracelets. Until they heard the lyrics and then kept on walking. The video is fucking classic.

If tomorrow night after midnight (when I get paid) I can get a plane ticket for cheap still, I'll be coming down this weekend and if we can get a babysitter, def gonna be there.

50/50 chance though. Depends on how a couple airlines (usually united and american) setup their last minute deals this week. Sometimes you can do it up to the day before, other times three days before....if they do a last minute deal at all!

Yeah, there's usually last minute deals on United or American. Two questions that remain are is though how many people are going to snatch it up (the departure and return times for what I would need for a cheap flight are not lining up to well) before Thursday comes (because they do only sell so many seats at the cheap price) or if the last minute fare ends 24 hours, 48 hours, or 72 hours before depature. This part varies from week to week...I think if the plane is filling up they just kill the deal a little earlier.

Many times have I see the flight for nice and cheap, and in literally a five minute span between seeing the cheap price and getting the direct deposit in my account, the price will go up $100.

I fly down to LA 2-3 times a month, so deal with this crap all the time!

It's all a conspiracy!

Of course I'll say hello. I usually stand to the left-corner of the booth...from the DJ's view at Circus.

I thought he didn't even start touring as DJ until like 2003. When I talked to him about his time playing at Mezzanine way back then, he said it was when he just started travelling as a DJ and that was one of his first gigs...

I could be wrong..I didn't know that was his first time in SF (if it was) until he told me that himself.

Yup at Space550, was so long ago not sure about the date,
not dj, more like PA Live!
anyhow was a fun nite again!

Ou-eM-Gii!

What a night it was! Absolutely amazing! The pix tell it all!!! (And the pix btw are so vibrant and great, too! Thanks Mikey!) Was great to play in SF again, and it was great to play with Randy and Taj, I think it made a pretty freaking perfect night, huh? Building up from start to end!

Was great seeing all the friendly and familiar faces again and the place packed so early, and Taj, it was great seeing you again my friend! You have mail.

Mr. Monsoon flew down from Seattle, wtf, very cool!!! And Hollie flew in from Vegas, some people know how to party! Thank you guys, and thanks everyone for coming out!

DaveT, yeah, the Mezzanine gig was one of my first official *DJ* gigs, I started doing those around 2003-2004, but I did electronic live shows before that, starting late 1999 in Finland. My set evolved both content and tech-wise over the years, but it always included a sequencer (first hardware, later software on a laptop; Ableton Live), a keyboard synth, a sampler, efx unit, cd-players and sometimes electronic drumpads, sometimes live players (guitar & live percussion) and singers and/or an MC. I didn't start out as a dj like it very often was back then, but I started making music in 1996-1997, or, NOISE, and it slowly evolved into something listeneable (yeahyeahyeah, for some people), so I "had to" start playing out.
