So Durand and Sander van Doorn is nothing new then? I don't think it takes a genius to realize that their style is having an impact on the trance scene. You in denial or something?

It is but in tech trance and techno. I don't think the OP was attributing those same qualities to tech trance and techno but to melodic and uplifting trance (at least that's what I assumed).

Simple fact is that SVD, Durand and the like have somehow got into the melodic realm of trance as if they are melodic. They are far from melodic at all. When recent melodic trance radio shows are saturated with productions that aren't melodic at all, then you know there's a problem.

Bah I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore. Completely lost my train of thought.

Good trance is still being produced, today....At least, on vinyl, it is.... Don't know much about the digital downloading music market....

Those videos brought a smile to my face

Unfortunately i don't think you can find modern EDM with such "pure" vibes, stop lying about those parties lol.

2002-2005, probably listened to nothing but trance. Then I branched out into all the sub-genres of EDM. From extreme to extreme. Drum n Bass, jungle, house, hard house, progressive trance/house, happy hardcore, gabba, Florida breaks, chillout, minimal. I have to say, my taste in music is almost exclusively electronica, but I have am into so much more than one sub-genre of it. Trance isn't the same as it used to be, but there are still some fucking good producers out there. Yea, it's been commercialized to hell, but so has a million other genres of music. You will always find the true innovative producers out there who don't pander to the deaf and dumb mainstream crowd who want nothing but top 40 hits to dance to on the weekend.

Uplifting trance will never die . For example you can check the latest tune of Dave202 ("Fireball") which is simply a blast or the remix from Airbase of "Above & Beyond - Far From In Love"
