So it wasn't a hard transition to get into trance and other edm styles in early 2000. First clubbing experience was Gabriel & Dresden at 1015 in I believe 2003 or 2004.

I grew up listening to same music you listed including, Ministry, Pop Will Eat Itself, and a whole bunch of others I can't remember right now. Bought my first record C.C.C.P. - American Soviets in Junior High back in the mid eighties!

Really got into electronic music and partying in the early ninties, went berserker 95-2006, and now I very selective about my nights out.

I've had more memorable nights then you could imagine, seen an insane amount of DJ's/shows in dozens of different countries, and met an outstanding number of people.

I'm still really into the music, and enjoy spinning for myself and close friends. 16 years and counting...

Then went to Funky Tekno Tribe's Tribal Massive at Bill Graham later that year to celebrate my 15th birthday...

I used to be more of a House Head and listened to DJ Dan, Farina, Jeno & Garth... (but listened to Trance like Mars & Mystre & uhhh... DJ Mystik haha)

And what moved me over to trance for good was Metropolis 2002 (the one in the 3Com Park parking lot) when I saw Deepsky annihilate the main room/tent.
And also going to the Trance room/tent and hearing I think Mars & Mystre drop PPK - Resurrection for the first time at a massive. Mind f-in blown..... Hahaha

I still have the first Trance CD I ever bought: Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport ....

And also Star Guitar galvanized my love for edm in general

Can't believe how fast time flies...

I am currently 23 as well... grew up listening to local DJs mars n mystre, dyloot, and tom slik.. went to metropolis in oakland (during high school) as my first "part-E" and it was sick! i remember there were stands selling pizza, philly cheese steaks, computer gaming room, rock climbing area, and an inflatable slide! good times back then...

Damn I thought only Vietnamese people listened to Dj Mystik.. LOL. And before Dj Mystik was Dj Epic and that was back when I was in the 6th or 7th grade. (Come to think of it..that should explain the invasion of fobs and asian gangsters at clubs in socal..they been listening to that for years!) haha

Yeah I been listening to electronic music since it was considered "dance" music I guess.. like La Bouche and all that.

First party was in 99 when I was 17. =)

You know the crazy thing, I think a Vietnamese guy gave me my first DJ Mystick CD.... Haha!
I think it might have been a guy named Hung too!

Strangest thing, I get asked this every time I go out wearing tight jeans.

I'm not asian either. Go figure?

oh man, i missed the boat on this thread.....but here is my clubbin resume...

im 30 now, been doin the clubbin/raving thing since about 14, so in it for about 16 years now.

started in the whole socal rave thang in 1994 to about 1999...grape ape at wild rivers, the dream parties, moontribe, bigger, ONe, family, fvck/no screw on monday, etc...anyone remember the promoter Tef or insominacs time parties or socal-raves list?

after 16 years, i still love dance music and most of my friends have either moved on or not into it anymore...but i havent been able to grow out of it. i have seen the scene evolve and mature, and i am glad to see the same promoters (like pasquale/insominac, reza, etc) still goin strong.

im not a music snob (like most of you on here *wink*), but just love all dance music now
