Takes about 2 seconds to say, and it's a yes/no question. With that mindset, you could go ask every girl in the supermarket and maximize your chances instead of wasting your time on an unsure thing. Provided you have no shame that is - but if you're trying to pick girls up at the grocery store you most likely don't have any.

i personally have always had a fantasy of getting hit on by a hottie in the grocery store. i think it's the perfect place. if only you pansy ass fags would stop being scared of rejection and just be a confident man and take charge and walk up to a chick and introduce yourself and ask them if they have a boyfriend and proceed to (in a not so creepy way) hit on her.

define not so creepy?

i once had a guy ask if he could be my boyfriend when i was in the toilet paper aisle. then he proceeded to stalk me from a distance around the next few aisles. creeeeeeepy.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-05-2008 02:40:

If I had to choose, I'd prefer to get hit on at the library.

Posted by Frenchie on Dec-05-2008 02:59:

So would I and by the librarian. Why? Toronto librarians make 30+$ an hour.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-05-2008 03:02:

Are you fucking serious?? That's ridiculous!

i dunno just not too serious or "i've been watching you shop and i want to know if you have a boyfriend" type of vibe lol

just casually and calmly in a "i dont normally do this but you're really pretty and i'd like to take you out" sort of vibe.

Posted by Frenchie on Dec-05-2008 03:16:

I had a friend of mine who worked at the branch beside my house during the summer and she's like.. Yeah, come work at the library with me, I make so and so an hour. My jaw dropped.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-05-2008 03:25:

That's not right man...how fucking hard is a librarian's job? Bullshit imo.

Posted by Zild on Dec-05-2008 03:33:

Fucking tough I tell you. You get to read amazing books all day. It sucks.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-05-2008 03:34:

Not that I do it for the money, but if a fucking librarian makes as money as I do, I'm definitely going to get my Master's degree.

That's what I say, too. If a librarian is making what I make and they do less work...I may have gotten the wrong degrees and stuff.

Or we could just kill your friend. Stupid bitch.

Posted by Frenchie on Dec-05-2008 03:40:

She works at Wal-mart now. So now I make more than 3x what she does. I don't feel so bad.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Dec-05-2008 03:41:

Oh good. Fuck her.

P.S. I have to go to work now. Bye!

It is still super easy therefore anyone with a bachelors degree in science or medicine should make more since they work a lot harder. But things don't quite work that way all the time.

It's not a question of difficulty, it's just supply and demand. People in toronto aren't too keen on reading books I hear.

having a certain title doesn't mean you work harder and deserve more. there is a certain someone on my floor at work who has a much higher title than i do and he's lazy as shit. i make considerably less but work considerably more.

All of the people I have worked for in my field are Doctors of Chemistry/Materials Science. They work much harder than any librarian and so does everyone in their research labs be it post docs, grad students, or undergrads. I couldn't imagine working as hard as they do. Teaching classes, running labs with millions of dollars of equipment, flying around the country to present new research, and constantly having to write grants for funding. They make just slightly more than a librarian.

Now if they left academia and worked in the private industry they would make at least twice as much as any librarian and work half as hard as they would at a research university. Just illustrating that sometimes working harder doesn't make you more though it should. Like you said you work harder but make less.

I'd personally find that kind of work a lot easier than flipping burgers all day. Mostly on a psychological level.
