question thoe are we allowed to talk about ideas? as rule 5 has me a little comfused.

you can talk about whatever, i just want the resulting remixes to be anonymous, so when the final poll will be set people wont favor a name over the other...

ok i understand now thanks.

Uhuuu..so this is gonna be a poll compy...

The remix is turning out pretty awesome actually..and IMHO...the vocals are MASSIVE!

Just one note guys..if ur not or don't want to be involved in the remix..then just don't reply to this thread...what's the point of flaming the track if u have nuthin' to do with it...unless u've got some spare time

Anyways...the point of a remix IS changing the way the tune sounds..whether its good or not..

Cheers
DJ Resemo

Or am i missing something? Because pleading sarcasm is usually what idiots do to justify/rationalize mistakes that they made.

If not for me, this contest would not exist. Until people came in and gang raped my initial thread there was actually about to be a contest started that im sure would have been more popular and appealing to all the members.

Ending. This. Shit.

I honestly thought your second sentence was sharp, its something I could see myself saying in your position.
Except for how blatantly obvious sarcasm is for the majority of people.

This is the second time though I've heard about some alternate thread gang rape or w/e. I know for a fact I didn't post in it, but did it have to do with a remix contest?

Can someone link me?
That way I can have a clue at least..

Oh and about my mix.

The more I listen to this track the MORE I actually like it which is rare.
The ONE thing that I didn't like about the original was the lack of a synth line climax.

Some people said the vocals were off sync, I think you have to be a loser to notice it in this track because it is not obvious at all.

I have my intro done, main synths, bass, but the mix is what always takes the most time.
Good to know I have till early Jan to finish.

Loving this track for a remix.

+1
pretty sweet, i'm lovin the parts

i'm using most of the original parts and just altering them and twisting them into my design

i'm finding the vocals a little bit annoying, anyone else using logic? i'm new to logic, but it keeps warping bits of the vox so it becomes out of sync and sounds terrible... i'm having the most trouble with:

"but now it seems like this waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssss an abrupt interrupt"....
sounds bad, i tried cutting waa/ass" but doesn't really work
so thinking of trying to make a dub, but i really like the vocals and the flow they have, so dunno...??

i've used time machine etc, which puts the rest of the track in sync, but doesn't help waaass and a few other bits...

yeah im having a bit off trouble to with the vocal it doesn't quite sit right. im on fl thoe so im looking to chop and play around with it a bit.

Posted by Vortex_SA on Dec-14-2008 06:55:

the original is 134 BPM if that helps stretching the parts...

yeah i figured out it's 134, but i'm trying to make mine at a different tempo, so when i warp it it's reading the orig file wrong, and warping certain parts longer, and certain parts shorter if that makes sense..

maybe i should just stick to the original tempo hehe

I don't think that's very nice
You have to be a loser if you don't notice it

yes thanks i have completey reworked this track so i have a question if the vocal was dropped is this allowed. not because of the vocal issue as making them work is allways a pain but like i said i have reworked it all and just wondered if i did leave it out weather or not im allowed to.

waaa waaa lol.
That makes ME a loser too because I did actually notice today processing the vocals that they are severely off sync.

BACK ON TOPIC.

Because the vocals are being a bit of a nuisance for people I'm going to post a 100% on sync version of the vocals.
I'm also going to post a midi of the vocals for anyone remixing.

Before I get the link up be WARNED.
On beat also means a change of vocal speed/dynamic. I didn't work out the tangles but certain parts work better (you can replace the tangled parts with originals you have is what I suggest) and use the parts that are on beat for the rest.

I'll post a chopped midi for the main lead too if anyone wants to fvck with it too.

Here:
edit

The vocals are also on pitch too now. Directly on the key of the midi file supplied.

get this link down, now.

Please read the rules before you do something like that again, if you have something of that sort ill be more than happy to pass it around in e-mails, not like this.

Hello everybody!

Waaaa....a lot has been going on it this thread lately.

Anyway I managed to find a couple of days to start working on my remix. For now it has the vocals in it but who knows what happen in the end

Hopefully I will get another 3-4 days off to finish it.

Cheers!

No worries mate,

Personally i don't hear anything wrong with the vocals, maybe i got used to it, maybe i have a lacking sense of rhythm, but i really don't know what to fix in it,

but you already made a fix, so ill be happy to pass it around to all the competitors if that's what you want...

Edit: lol, i just made a fool out of myself anyway i fixed the quote... you are still welcomed to send me over your fix and ill pass it on if you'd like that

Alright, fuck it, I'm in. I somewhat take back my earlier comments, but I still feel the track as a whole is a piece of crap. It definitely has remix potential, however, as there are a few select elements that just barely pass for good tech trance.

Haha for some odd reason I feel like holding on to it now.

What I had done with the vocals though was run them through melodyne and detect the pitch. Then I quantized to 1/8 beat and centered the pitch.
Melodynes great because it will slightly timestretch or condense every individual spoken syllable at once so their peaks hit perfectly on beat.

But then you lose a certain human feel to the vocals too. W/e the case I'm still not sure whether handing them out is a great idea, its more like a "look what I can do" situation to make it easier for amatures like myself to work with the vocals.

Posted by airwalker1 on Dec-15-2008 18:27:

i would like the new vocal sample please
