But I decided to keep it down to an 80 minute mix at the last minute as I was recording it.

Makes perfect sense then

Will definitely consider making the next one longer to have more room to build different moods.

I've been working towards recording longer sets... it's hard, haha.

Yup, it could be quite the challenge

good stuff man - haven't heard much of this stuff before; nice groovy / loungey kind of feel to it. almost like deep house with some spunk! i like it! going on the mp3 player for sure.

Ace set, man!

Thanks for listening guys, glad that you enjoyed it

Tight mix though it seemed to plod along a bit. Nonetheless, good tunes and a good feel about it.

Thanks for listening mate

Finally had a chance to check it out. Nice vibe all the way through, although I agree with some others to take a risk here and there with something a little different thrown in. It's fun to surprise the listener like that.

Just my 0.02!

Thanks for listening Justin, and appreciate the comments. I have a lot of tracks for my next mix already and I will take that into consideration. It's going to be surprising considering how different some of the tracks are from each other

In!

Thanks Teez, let me know what you think

Just finished listening to this and I must say I'm really impressed with this mix mate. Again really well presented with great artwork and I could really hear that you've progressed a lot of since ur Dark Light set. I also guess that having a midi controller makes a huge difference.
Really nice smooth tunes on here with fantastic grooves throughout although I'm not familiar with any of the tracks, I'm finding that deep house is growing on me a lot recently and will probably be buying more tunes within this genre.
Any label/artist recommendations?
Keep up the great work man!

Thanks for listening and for the kind words Teez. Although my mixing is far from being perfect I do feel that I've been getting much better at it in the past few months and the fact that people have actually noticed it means a lot. I haven't been able to practice as much since I mixed this, but the midi controller alone makes a HUGE difference and makes things much easier.

As for the music, I've been getting a lot into this style of smooth, melodic, trippy house this year. I feel very comfortable mixing it too. You'll definitely want to check out the stuff that these labels are putting out:

UrbanTorque
2600 Records
Night Drive Music
Teardrop
Dig Deeper
Freerange
Dessous
Diynamic
Winding Road
OM Records

As for artists, check these out:

Lovebirds
Fred Everything
Pezzner
Shur-I-Kan
Nick Curly
Jimpster
Milton Jackson
Vincenzo
Manuel Tur
Kollektiv Turmstrasse
Daso
Pawas
Scope
Funk D'Void
Francois Dubois
Ian Pooley
Jamie Jones

Thanks again for listening and I hope this list was helpful

Oscar, tell me what you think. I like to call it "Cosmic House". That's a pretty good name no? Because I always found this style straddles the line between deep, progressive and plain house music.

Big thanks for posting that mate. Be looking into these!

I've always thought of it as Deep Tech House, as in Tech House that's 'deep'

Wouldn't go as far as labeling Jamie Jones deep house. I honestly don't see how he fits in that list.

Always nitpicking aren't you?

However, this time I did fucked up. I meant to say Jamie Anderson. That damn 'Summertime' track has been on my head all week and made me confuse the two names.
