LOL AJ! Perfect post! Post of the year! Yes, I called it

Miljan, your kiddies are beautiful.

It's my niece's 2nd birthday today and I had a great conversation with her - I will see her on the 2nd April and I am so excited, my body starts to vibrate whenever I think about it.

Here she is;

Lol rocking the eyeliner and sudocrem look

Yummy!

All in, it cost him about $45,000-$50,000 each time.

Can't really put a price on the gift of a child you love though. Especially if you can't have one of your own and adopting is your only chance.

yeah the Russian kiddies are adorable - all blonde and blue eyes

too bad it's gonna be harder and harder to get kids from there - after the last few instances of American couples harming the kids they got from Russian, the Ruski politicans are having field days about it

But aren't there a lot of kids right here who need adoption???

Leave the foreign adoption to the celebs who can afford it...

One of the pure math profs at Waterloo has adopted two kids from China and one from Sweden, I believe; she's never had a problem with it.

I, personally, don't think I ever want kids.

Some of my friends challenge this and say things like, "Dude, you are one of the most intelligent people I know; you of all people should be contributing your DNA to the next generation!"

Even for the sake of filling the next generation with brainy math geniuses... I honestly believe that my hours are better spent on research and projects that will serve humanity in other ways. Call it competitive advantage, if you will. Lots of people can have kids and do a good job at it.

That said, I am not at all opposed to donating sperm for the benefit of the human genepool, provided some necessary conditions are met.

additionally, its really difficult to judge yourself as a parent if you are not one. Thus, if you were in a position to be having your own, you can't say with certainty that you would feel the same annoyance towards your own child.

+1

I love kids..always have always will.
It's not that i can't wait to have one of my own, coz i can, but i'm def really looking forward to the day of having one

+1 to taking offence to people saying "when you're older you'll change your mind"...how would you know? People don't all want the same things in life. What's good for you, may not be good for me.

I dont think getting older changes ppl's minds as much as actually having a kid of ur own does..
...that changes ppl more than anything else in the world imo, almost always in a good way

What if I had a kid and I didn't change my mind though? I would end up resenting my kid.

Right now I'm at about 95% don't want kids 5% do. So I leave that door open. I'm not opposed to adopting. If anything I think I may adopt. But it would be at a point in my life where I'm completely established and have done a good portion (if not all) of the big things in my life that would have had to be put on hold, or changed dramatically if I had a kid.
