Also that La Tortuga remix that a few DJs played really got me going.

"la tortuga" and "la mezcla" are two separate tracks done by the same producer.

both contain the trendy use of latin vocal sample and obligatory percussion bits

la mezcla

bloody cash (was abused even though its months old)

leave the world behind

summertime

unlike last year, where "pjanoo" and "grindhouse" were the CLEAR two WMC tracks, this year there were a bunch IMO

and that would be the track i just posted about...god, i'm obsessed with this. i rigged the music system at work so i could play my ipod and i had two customers ask me what it was the other day when it came on...trying to explain to a 50-something midwestern Clarks shoe shopper what a "WMC" is, impossible!

No offense, but it took you until page 7 to find your track? La Mezcla has been on every page since the start of this thread...lol. Drugs, drugs, drugs...

On another note, it seemed that the producer whose tracks were played the most was Paul Ritch. Swingworld, Walk the Line, Split, Split the Line, Rikarda... his shit was everywhere

nah no drugs, just a random title of a song doesn't do anything for me...it wasnt until i actually watched a clip someone posted that it clicked.
try not to be so judgemental...

Posted by Kevntampa on Apr-06-2009 03:10:

Quit being so judgemental Rissinite, take it easy...wtf.

Posted by Rissinite on Apr-06-2009 09:32:

Guess a little friendly sarcasm isn't what it used to be.

Don't mistake jokes for judging.

Now, back to the music...

Was really feeling

Loco Dice - M Train to Brooklyn (Carola remix)
Souki - Housemeister Gordon (Lazy Mouth remix)

not new or anything but they kicked the ass out of a few parties I was at

It could be older than dirt, but I heard it everywhere this year and I love it:
Sidney Sampson - Riverside

came out a few months back, most of the mixes I heard of it are newer and are the Rene Amesz remix. See my post on the first page.

Usually he's very quite and more so like a mad scientist behind the decks.

I thought last year at Vagabond was excellent and this year was right up there as well. The last hour was pretty special with all of the old tracks he played. And the fact that he went until almost seven with who I believe is the owner in the dj booth. I like him playing at that club. Low ceilings, room is not too big and it gets hot in there. Reminded me of many unbelievable nights at Simons back when the music was fresh and new. Hearing old tracks brought it back to then for me. While it will never be the same as it was back in the 90s that was pretty damn close.

This is on my Global Dance Mission #31/WMC2009 Promo Mix

http://web.mac.com/musicsoundscape/..._Dance_Mission_(MISSION_31).html

I'm spinning more underground techno and minimal right now, but this mix was something I wanted to do to appeal to a large base of electronic music fans and something that would be cool to listen to in traffic in LA or by the pool in Miami.

Posted by dj inphinity on Apr-10-2009 03:29:

also heard:
Faithless - Music Matters (Mark Knight Remix)
Funkagenda - Good Times
Mastiksoul - Bofe De Elite (Original Mix)
Hardrive - Deep Inside (Harry Choo Choo Romero's Bambossa Remix)

alot =)

cool video of SHM playing my mix:

Joey Seminara & Simon Gain - Far Away

got a hold of their new promo straight from Joey...Simon Gain and Joey Seminara - Music Behavior, and Revenge. Both I'm betting will be large hits when they are out in may or june.

Heard the Mark Knight mix of Music Matters a lot...
Heard some random techno remix of music sounds better with you a few times...
Of course...heard the shit out of Leave The World Behind
