maybe your not such a prick...LOL

PvD is easily the freshest dj out there

but for playing the same set nobody can beat tiesto

i mean how many times did we have to hear that 'Magik 7' set over and over and over and over then... how many times is he gonna do this mix...

Windsider - 'Hidden Flight'
DJ Tiesto - 'Flight 643'
Katana - 'Fancy Fair'

seems like tiesto just changes his set a few times a year! LOL then when he feels like its time to drop a classic... he will pinch one of oakey's

the prophet anyone?? LOL

when was the last time Paul played into the night?? not for a long time...

and as for Massive

he could play... original. PvD remix. Mirco de Govia remix or Filterheadz remix... its just got a new remix package.. of course hes gonna be playing it again.

And double beat the pair like he did @ the NEC in April
but I'm only kidding, not heard a recent PvD set so I can't judge, and by the sounds of things Twig you've not heard an Oakie set in a long long while. Try one, you'll be pleasantly surprised, they're not bland, and the mixing is mmmmmm....perfection

Posted by tiesto14 on Jun-17-2002 23:19:

who cares AG is GONEEEEEEEEEE

Posted by DJ A.i on Jun-17-2002 23:20:

hmmm i think everyone needs to understand that okie is not known for his DJing skills... but for his production skills! to tell you the truth.. i dont give a shit about if hes a good dj or not..... its producing music which counts the most. look at every dj you know... they are a producers and are famous for produceing ... not djing... it is becuase they produce great music that makes them popular... if pvd never produced a single track...and just DJed other peoples songs i really dont think he would be big as he is... and im sure most of us would rarely hear his name. when pvd and other producers spins at a club.. it is like a concert for them where they can showcase their MUSIC.

oh and shame on those that bashes on PVD =)

Out There & Back is incredible, a flawless masterpiece of beautiful music. Didn't like his older stuff much though, not my style...

AHHH!!! This thread has turned into a bunch of cockshit!!! Close it please!!!!

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jun-18-2002 13:09:

I was just wondering:

If Oakey's mixing sucks, then why does he insist on doing all of his mixcds live? That wouldn't be a smart thing to do if your mixing sucked, now would it?

Posted by Jah on Jun-18-2002 13:53:

hey im sure you guys already know all this and getting back to the topic did you know oakey originally was into hip hop and other pop acts... he signed jazzy jeff and the fresh prince and salt n peppa apparantly i was reading all this in this big article on him in a local mag i knew that before but i didn't realise how involved he was apparantly its what he was doing way before the trance shit and even though the trance shit is what i love and give him maximum respect for you gotta hand it to the guy not so much going back to his roots but being diverse... nothing wrong with that

it wasnt a very smart thing to do no!

Resident: 2 years at Cream

and

Tranceport

both were terrible in technical terms... spesh CD1 of Resident,, a few of them tracks arent even mixed.. just fades.

Smoking ..umm..something

i am totally with ur dream grl on this...we just saw him live in orlando recently and he fuggin tore it uP! i hope im not alone when i say that it really bugs me the way people are so eager to diss a DJ the SECOND all the "other people" (people who arent as informed about trance or people who listen to commercial stuff) start to take an interest in trance or big named DJ's...it's like everyone is being selfish and they want to be the ONLY ones who know about that dj or songs...g*d forbid they are on national tv!! i think that is fuggin AWESOME!! that just means we are closer to having actual DJ's get nominated for awards and shit for MTV and other ceremonies! how PHAT would that be...im pretty sure they already have such ceremonies in Europe but America is a bit behind there...we still salute puff daddy and britney spears! i dunno about you guys, but i want the whole world to know about trance and the DJ's and how amazing it is...i dont WATCH mtv cuz it's just gone to shit but if i knew PVD and Oakie and other vids were on there man that would just be great imo

Ya damn right Oakey is a sellout. He sells out every flipping show to this day.
And MTV interviewing him? Thats cool as shit. Its good to see our music becoming exposed once in a while. Honestly, I wish trance wasnt so underground sometimes so itll be easier to find the music. With AG down now, its going to be impossible to find music.

I prefer trance as it is now...
I mean if it was commercially known... what we would say ?
"bahhhh its shitty commercial like Darude and stuff like that."
Am I right ?
Sure it would be nice to have a trance club in our town (some of you already have)... but the more it guests popular.. the more we're gonna see cacroach artists invading to trance scene... we don't wanna see that.

There still are too many cockroach trance artists. I don't wanna see more of them.

Oakey, he brought the sound, and found the sound on the Balearics, making then , one of the hottests nights, with it, he brought it to the UK and actually spread it around, then, brought it to the Americas, in the Underground, the guy was playing trance allready like 10 years ago , thats so you know, he brought the change to the Americas, he was the first DJ to make a MIXED CD ( IN AMERICA ) which was Tranceport, and the first to have ever sold as much been a Dance mixed compilation ( Loui Devito with his N.Y. UNdergroung surpassed him with the sellings.. but thats commercialized crap )
And well.. what that proves, and tells to you Oakey haters ? !?!?! He deserves been where he is now. One thing, he does not play comemrcilizm . He is just famous, but still devoted to the underground.

Posted by Cable on Jun-23-2002 15:17:

thats funny coming from someone who proclaims to know so much about trance, twig.
