Just downloaded it, what a terribly boring set, know i'm not surprising that he forbid to broadcast his sets, early trance, now he playing progressive and house.

He played Trance, just it was the first hour from a 3 hours live set guys

Tiesto = trance hmm maybee in 2000 - 2005

not now!

tiesto sux!!

armin too!!

this is NOT REAL TRANCE MUSIC!!

THI IS MTV - VIVA POP "TRANCE"

Posted by djash on Apr-15-2009 12:01:

But it strange to play in first hour electro, progressive house and then trance. I suggest to play slower trance to warm up people then faster and more bangin. Armin produces now vocal trance girls likes it, mine too. But Tiesto now just uses his popularity from the beginning of the 21th century. Lats good trance track was Dance 4 Life 3 years ago. His last track was not trance for sure, i even didn't remember it's title, Mat Zoo Remix was there also. I was so impressed to hear such shit from Tiesto. I really doubt it was normally sold. Now trance music produced and played by DJ number 1 John O'Callaghan (will vote for him), Sean Tyas, Aly & Fila, Tom Colontonio, Paul Webster, Jon O'Bir e.t.c. I with both hands for those guys.

There are uplifting DJs (Paul Webster is more tech trance). For me it isn't the "Only and Real" Trance, I like all other kinds of Trance too but maybe you don't call it Trance.

About Uplifting i don't like the majority of new tracks (too soft, not enough club, not enough oppressive etc) because i think it was better in 2003-2004 (and certainly before).

When i listen Super 8 - Alba or other tracks from this period for exemple, i say me it's not the same uplifting now and except for a few rare tracks, I prefer listen progressive house/trance, electro trance, tech trance. Tech Trance isn't also excellent than in the past too...

About Tisto just I know he played some uplifting tracks @ Queen Club : Virtual Vault, Marcos - Cosmic Strings 2009 etc

I couldn't really believe what I was hearing. The tracks are awful, the whole set sounds just like some random noise with a bunch of weird beats, pops, clicks, etc.

And yeah, now that makes sense why Tiesto & Co. don't broadcast anything. They know it sucks so hard, that Tijs would immediately loose the last remnants of his legend (= no more money). But if people don't know what he's playing...

Posted by Kaiser on Apr-15-2009 13:09:

lol, it's really not a new thing for Tiesto and such guys to be playing house and progressive. Trance is nowhere near where it was years ago, hence why they don't play all this shitty generic crap.

Music moves on and so do the artists, if you're not able to keep up then quit whining. Times change, you gotta change with the times.

You have no idea what you're missing on progressive house tunes. Please do yourself a favor and download the last Transitions podcast and go straight to the 17th minute, you'll get my meaning.

If you say that Gui Boratto - No Turning Back is a shit tune then there is no hope for you.

In case you don't know - people can have their own tastes and opinions. If you can't cope with that, there's definetly no hope for you. Just stop whining about it.

PS. I really like Proghouse, but I'll say it again - this 'set' is just bad. Really bad.

Yes and communists have an opinion too, it just happens that theirs is worth nothing. Just like yours.

Ah, now I get it! You should've stated your opinion this way right away in your first post. Now I understand - you're the only one to be right, you have the best taste, etc., etc.

Seriously - grow up, kid.

This post is so f*cking ironic considering Tiesto's sets in the last 12 months are 90% full-on trance from artists you mention in your rant. It helps to have a clue or idea about what you're talking before launching into a heavy-handed critique.

Funny that the 1 time he deviates from this ballshit trance, guys like you criticise him changing the game. Establish that this is 1 night in 150 shows, and you get the idea that its hardly a true reflection of what hes been hammering recently.

I loved this set. Not because i love tiesto, or his style, but because for once he finally freaking changed his broadcast from being the cookie cutter crap to please the morons, into some intellectual techy/prog/housey beats. I love when he changes and mixes it up a bit. 3hrs of trance is so mind-numbing boring this is a nice alternative.

I can't comment about the artists you list as better - as I havent a clue what they regularly play, I couldnt tell you if they played trance, techno or mickey mouse gabber. Case of pot calling the kettle black if you single out Tiesto for this non-trance set without even hearing any tunes in 2-3 years as you mentioned...

It is just maybe unfortunate the management have been so tight on releasing Tiesto sets in that time, otherwise you may have a different idea what he's doing.

This hour is one of the finest sets ive heard for a long time and not nearly enough. Awesome stuff.
