that worried me a bit.

My brother went to law school for a little bit, he's an excellent reader, very intelligent, but couldn't handle the work and was told his chances of finding a job that doesn't involve paper pushing all day were slim to none, so he quit. He didn't want to be miserable 24/7.

To be quite frank, there are way too many lawyers in this country. Even with the case load, there are just too many.

honestly, if you want to make the most amount of money while working the least amount of time, be a personal injury lawyer. your paychecks come in bunches...sometimes just 3k, then the next month you grab a 33k fee, then every now an then you get that 100k + fee. it's like the lottery business and a 16 year old can do it. if you have finesse and good negotiating skills, you'll be golden.

*edit* you can easily start your own LLC and do everything presuit. you would only need one secretary and a small office to rent to be living comfortably.

Or you could be a baller and get your masters of engineering and your law degree and you could be a patent lawyer. Firms are always looking for those guys, and you make bank. Lot of school tho

yea i was talking more about not having to work as much and making great money

personally, if i followed through and went to law school like i wanted to you a couple years ago, i would have really tried to get into entertainment law.

Example? I should probably read slashdot more often, but I generally don't read the law articles.

RIM and Push, Amazon and 1 click checkout, MSFT and the FAT patent...the list goes on. www.pubpat.org has a nice list. This also affects patenting DNA sequences. US Patent Law = horrible.

You can see this as an investment. But buy 4x 60-day packages(total cost=$120) on World of Warcraft. Each account should be a Priest, since it's very rare for any player to actually reach level 60 priest as it's incredibly boring. After the 60 days are up, each of your 4 accounts will be worth $900. Sell them, buy sleeping drugs, go to sleep, wake up, pay for some woman's drink, marry her, kill her father, take his money.

hey now, 2 of my friends are patent lawyers, one coming from a computer science background. dunno much bout entertainment law, def dont want to enter a field that requires in court litigation, or at least a lot of it.

Patents are the John D Rockafeller of the 21st century.
