Pro2 will probably be my next phone (that or the Nokia N97,). Didn't like the first one because that scroll wheel took too much space so the screen was shifted some way to the left (the same reason that the E75 doesn't appeal to me...why did they have to stick that stupid numeric keypad on the front ) but the new one with its big and centred screen really tickles me. The only thing the Pro2 lacks is a decent camera, but then again, being a Nokia E series user for some time now, im used to that.

HTC just needs to stop using plastic lenses. That is an outright fail.

Hot damn, forget about the pro2 (which is still an excellent phone). Look what just leaked from nokia

Dont know how long the video will be up before the Nokias lawyer ninjas forces youtube to take it down. Anyway this is now in all likelyhood my next phone. Damn you Nokia, why must you make such superior devices.

Ummm....

How is that phone better then the 2G iphone that came out 2 years ago?

It does all most everything that E72 did in that clip.

Posted by Moongoose on Jun-14-2009 22:07:

What do you expect from the video, its a short leaked teaser trailer? And its quite sad that the iphone could do most of the things in that video, since the first symbian phone that i bought about 7 years ago (the 7650) could do all (not just most) of the things in that video. So how is the iphone better than a 7 year old nokia?

This.

Also:
This is from 2002.

This is from 1998

Both could do all of what your iPhone could do, and they are both old as dirt.

So tempted to get an iPhone... know it's not perfect and etc. but really just can't be fucked searching around for stuff that is meant to be better. Plus the network it is on in the UK is cheaper for me.

Any reason I shouldn't go for one? (would be the 8 gig S, for free)

Ben, I haven't gotten your opinion yet on the Palm Pre, have you gotten to look at any in person? I have, I must say, they're pretty damn slick, it seems like Palm did it right this time.

Well, early reports (the pre-release almost production pre-production units) were that it was just as much of a piece of shit that all Palm devices have been. Then the actual production models with the production software and everything hit reviewers hands and they absolutely love it. For me, the jury is still out as I have yet to get my hands on one as of this moment. There are some issues that have been creeping up, but we will see what happens. Give it 6 months, and then lets talk.

Yeah, there are going to be obvious bugs with any new phone release, but I'm sure Palm will release a patch to fix that soon. My buddy Zach has one, it organizes your contacts like the iPhone and has a shitton of applications at your fingertip whenever you need it. The great thing is the way it treats applications like processes, where you can use an app, answer a call, send an email, browse the web, and return to what you were doing without any loading/garbage collection time being wasted. Also, the gestures to close cards and move them over to the side is cool. I'm actually pretty excited about owning one soon, I have had a Sprint contract for a while and my contract runs out in a few days. It seems cheaper to buy a 2-year contract and a phone for $200 bucks instead of an iPhone + an AT&T contract for over $150 more.

Totally agree that the whole new phone OS and having bugs. You just can't simulate EVERY situation. And you just never know what people are doing either.

As to the navigation and what not, nothing new here. HTC has been putting a home screen app on all their phones for 2 years now that makes a lot of stuff just at your fingertips.

Well, everyone has been doing a home screen thing since the dawn of cellphones, but the way you can access your home screen or quick launch buttons while using an app is outstanding, you simply drag it up from the bottom and select where you want to go, right in the middle of an application!

You can do the same on WinMo with TouchFlo. Minimize and launch the other app. No big deal.
