BUT...if u want speed and for half the price...just buy a 68 Camaro slap in a 426 Hemi and have it BLOWN..(superchargerd for people who dont know what blown means), gut it out and maybe get a bigger cam...and I guarantee you, ur car will blow the doors off ANY BMW or Benz in the 1/4 mile and 0-60...anyone who DARES to say its not true...well i go to many street races and my friend has this exact car and will put up $10,000 to race to show you...he will even give the BMW or Benz 3 cars and the break...and for people who dont race...that means u can have 3 car lengths head start and be able to hit the gas first...then he will pin his Camaro and SMOKE YOU and collect his cash... but thats if your looking for all out speed...speed that when u hit that gas u feel liek your chest is going to cave in because it launches so hard.....and u have trouble breathing when that car breaks the line... |

| Originally posted by andromeda Not looking for that kind of speed, sorry. I like cars which are fast, have great handlng, excellent brakes, drive smooth, are nicely designed, and on top of it all, are quality built, inside and out. Not to mention, something that wont break down without any warning. Those Camaros and Mustangs are only good for one thing, straight line accelaration. Their handling needs much to be desired. if the race is not straight line, then these cars are totally crap. Build quality is horrible on these cars, interior is all plastic and cheap materiala are used. No styling on the outside whatsoever. It rattles and hums everywhere on the inside. And on top of all this, they spend most of their time in the workshop. No thanks! I will be very happy in my 350Z and E46 M3. Speed, handling, superior design, and elegant interior! |
I am loving my 330ci I can only imagine how the m3 is, art get that shit, and talking about camaro and mustangs you can bury those metals. They might have speed when you hook it up, but take it on a narrow highway with sharp turns and you will find yourself dead. BMW sticks to the ground. And 800 american horsepower = to 300 german horsepower.

2002 M3, upgraded to R19, with Bridgestone's S03 (245 front and 285 rear) is the best handling car I ever drove (on the level with 911 Turbo 4 wheel drive)... Took turns @ 4x the posted limit

the SIZE of the tire has no where near the effect of the tread pattern.....
i run 215/35/18 Yokohamas but i noticed no difference between the sizes...its the tread that makes u handle goood....
Alot of bullshitting going on in this thread. Listen to Tiesto143, he knows alot about rice rockets and beefed up American cars.
Streetracing is for losers, you wanna prove yourself? Take your car to the track.
Pvd77, Get the fuck off my avatar.
Have a goodnight!
agree that us cars are POS and only good for straight lines..
M3 will kill anything out there on turns and handling..
Cobra will beat to 0-100 and will fall apart..
M30 I will have 4 year unlimited warranty also...
yes, be very careful with street racing!!
in little small town baldwinsville, in my development called radisson, two people died yesterday, 21 and 18...
street racing down willet parkway, pretty much straight except for one curve, hit that curve going over 100 and flew off the road. that's it!!
sorry to be a nag, but it happened 3 minutes from my house, really hits home!!
well...u want 2 talk about dieing...2 kids in my school died street racing. but street racing on a str8 away when no cars are there...then thats fine. i race all the time. its like i am addicted 2 racing. i almost died couple of times. i almost had my car fliped. its like i gotta see a damn doctor 2 fix my damn problem. but i am gonan get a fast car and i am going 2 smoke that camero that goes 8 secs on the qm. btw...art's car is slow...i already raced it and smoked it :P

A decent car thread... time to get my two cents in...
Alright, tiesto14 definately knows his shit. American muscle cars are exactly that.. muscle cars.. tune 'em and you've got yourself a drag machine that doesn't compare to anything European. A friend of mine put slicks on his fully engine modded camaro ss (n/a, bored out, polished, intake, cams, straight pipe (sssshhh.. don't tell the cops)
). This fire breathing bad ass completely destroyed some cocky bastard's yellow s4... haha.. don't even know why he tried...
I mean power (massive horsepower and torque) has always been huge in Americas automotive history and racing. Look at the types of professional races that are big in this country... drag racing, oval racing, truck pulls, and what not... all balls, no handling...
In Europe, you've got your formula 1 (it's all street style cuircuit races), world rally, and whatever else there is... World rally is in my opinion the ultimate test of a car. I'd take one of those cars with it's apparently measely 300 horsepower over anything else mentioned here any day. I mean, who the hell wouldn't wanna lock the back wheels and swing around a sharp corner on the cliffs of corsica while narrowly avoiding a crowd of screaming onlookers. Alright now I'm babbling...
And about ferrari's, lamborghini's, and porsches. They only sell cars to fund there racing programs (or they used to at least). These cars demand top dollar for their excessive amount of race track proven engineering (especially the porsches... they raped everyone back in the 70s.. so well engineered). I mean, you're not gonna find ceramic brakes on any cobra anytime soon sorry to say..
Anyway, I guess my point is different cars serve different purposes. If you want cheap speed get a muscle car. If you want expensive, race proven engineering get a porsche or ferrari (skip the lambo... only tools buy those). If you want a kickass car, get a peugeot 206 or ford focus and tune it into a rally monster, or buy a wrx sti or an evo VII...
Learn to read, then get back to me..

If it was up to me to get a m3 i would have ac schnitzer deck it out. Look at what they did to a 745.
