LoL....i am SERIOUS...if u wanna race it i will let him know...he has races backed up for the next month..but once those are done he will take ya..even with you spraying a 20 shot...which isnt that much anyway..but atleast your honest admitting u will be spraying..most people try and hide that and hide their lines...so thats cool u tell the truth..

But this would be a SERIOUS race...these guys dont play...if u say ur gunna race and show up..u gotta show the money...and if u do lose and dont pay up they will take u outta your car and keep it....its a business for them....they take it very very serious...

but think before u take this bet....ur talking about a 68 gutted and blown 426 Hemi Camaro with HUGE cams .... and i even will post his last ETA...

ON SLICKS = 8.76
STREET TIRES = 9.30

thats 1/4 mile times..

last Thursday night he beat and took 4,000 from some kid in a Viper in Yonkers, NY and a 99 Saleen with a 100 shot ...so THINK first..

do u HONESTLY beleive u have a chance??....his car is FULLY worked without juice and his the 3rd fastest street race car in the tri-state area...

but if your down then i will let him know...and u can still have the 3 cars and the break..he might even give u 4 cars length...

dont get me wrong i LOVE BMW and BENZ to death..but if u wanna talk about SERIOUS speed then worked Camaros and Mustangs are the fastest...

BUT...if u want speed and for half the price...just buy a 68 Camaro slap in a 426 Hemi and have it BLOWN..(superchargerd for people who dont know what blown means), gut it out and maybe get a bigger cam...and I guarantee you, ur car will blow the doors off ANY BMW or Benz in the 1/4 mile and 0-60...anyone who DARES to say its not true...well i go to many street races and my friend has this exact car and will put up $10,000 to race to show you...he will even give the BMW or Benz 3 cars and the break...and for people who dont race...that means u can have 3 car lengths head start and be able to hit the gas first...then he will pin his Camaro and SMOKE YOU and collect his cash...

but thats if your looking for all out speed...speed that when u hit that gas u feel liek your chest is going to cave in because it launches so hard.....and u have trouble breathing when that car breaks the line...

Not looking for that kind of speed, sorry. I like cars which are fast, have great handlng, excellent brakes, drive smooth, are nicely designed, and on top of it all, are quality built, inside and out. Not to mention, something that wont break down without any warning. Those Camaros and Mustangs are only good for one thing, straight line accelaration. Their handling needs much to be desired. if the race is not straight line, then these cars are totally crap. Build quality is horrible on these cars, interior is all plastic and cheap materiala are used. No styling on the outside whatsoever. It rattles and hums everywhere on the inside. And on top of all this, they spend most of their time in the workshop. No thanks!

I will be very happy in my 350Z and E46 M3. Speed, handling, superior design, and elegant interior!

oh i agree.....your right.....however there is also the 2003 Cobra that runs high 12's in the 1/4 mile beating the M3 , handles like its on rails, and topped out at 180...not bad at all...

but your right....for an ALL AROUND car i would go with your choices...i am just basicaly talking about if your looking for power that will blow your mind...a car that u would be scared to floor...

I am loving my 330ci I can only imagine how the m3 is, art get that shit, and talking about camaro and mustangs you can bury those metals. They might have speed when you hook it up, but take it on a narrow highway with sharp turns and you will find yourself dead. BMW sticks to the ground. And 800 american horsepower = to 300 german horsepower.

ahhahahahhahahahahhahahahah...LOL...u dont know much about cars do you?...the 2003 Mustang Cobra will destroy the M3 and M5 on the highway....ahhahahahhah...fuckign car tops out at 180mph with a full race suspension consisting off 22mm front and rear sway bars, coilover suspension and race bushings and tie rods from the showroom STOCK...

they tested the Cobra vs the M3 and the Cobra blew it away...go look it up.....

i have been around racing for so many years...trust me when i say American muscle cars are the leaders in power...noone can deny that...

LOL....300 HP is not alot....i know kids with Honda Civics with more then 300 HP that will out handle a Porsche....shit my car out handles a Porsche 996 and a M5....and yes i have raced them both on the Merrit parkway in Connecticut...and the Porsche and M5 drivers couldnt handle the turns at the speeds i could...handling is a cheap upgrade and BMWs stock dont have that great of handling....i have driven M3s, 740IA, and M5 and all where too loose....

very hard to believe bmw sticks to the ground, there no car that handles like bmw in it's class

Posted by amdmaxx on Jun-26-2002 20:44:

2002 M3, upgraded to R19, with Bridgestone's S03 (245 front and 285 rear) is the best handling car I ever drove (on the level with 911 Turbo 4 wheel drive)... Took turns @ 4x the posted limit

I know that what I am saying, my wheels are 245 all round

Posted by tiesto14 on Jun-26-2002 21:40:

the SIZE of the tire has no where near the effect of the tread pattern.....

i run 215/35/18 Yokohamas but i noticed no difference between the sizes...its the tread that makes u handle goood....

Alot of bullshitting going on in this thread. Listen to Tiesto143, he knows alot about rice rockets and beefed up American cars.
Streetracing is for losers, you wanna prove yourself? Take your car to the track.

Pvd77, Get the fuck off my avatar.

Have a goodnight!

agree that us cars are POS and only good for straight lines..
M3 will kill anything out there on turns and handling..
Cobra will beat to 0-100 and will fall apart..
M30 I will have 4 year unlimited warranty also...

Posted by rubyriva on Jun-27-2002 02:38:

yes, be very careful with street racing!!

in little small town baldwinsville, in my development called radisson, two people died yesterday, 21 and 18...

street racing down willet parkway, pretty much straight except for one curve, hit that curve going over 100 and flew off the road. that's it!!

sorry to be a nag, but it happened 3 minutes from my house, really hits home!!

Posted by amit on Jun-27-2002 02:56:

well...u want 2 talk about dieing...2 kids in my school died street racing. but street racing on a str8 away when no cars are there...then thats fine. i race all the time. its like i am addicted 2 racing. i almost died couple of times. i almost had my car fliped. its like i gotta see a damn doctor 2 fix my damn problem. but i am gonan get a fast car and i am going 2 smoke that camero that goes 8 secs on the qm. btw...art's car is slow...i already raced it and smoked it :P

LOL....u dont know much about cars do you?

by the time the Cobra hits 3rd u will still be redlining in first...lol

u wanna take it the highway...lol...ok it tops out at 180...

u say BMW is faster...well even if that is true (which it is NOT) u could buy a Cobra and still have $20,000 left over to add 1500 horsepower then u couldnt even line up with the Cobra...

and hey like i said u think ur car is fast then put ya money up...3 cars and the break....lol we will GIVE YOU a 3 CAR HEAD START and you can hit the gas first....LOL....and if u wanna top end it i can get a turboed Acura Integra with H22 Jap spec top end and a CRV bottom end that will surely be glad to race any beemer on the road....

its jus makes me mad how kids with beemers THINK they have fast cars...i mean YES they do look good..but when your talking about SPEED you should not brag about a M3...its not that fast...

And just the other day you were telling me about how you wanted an M3.

Comparing an M3 to a 68 Camaro is like apples with oranges, they dont go. Who in their right mind would even pull upto a muscle car with a Porsche or Bmw? Some cars were built just for road and others were built for the track.

LOL ya Dennis...of course i would want a Beemer...but not for the speed but for the girls and the comfort....

ur right about the Camaros...but Porsche is another story...depending on the Porsche...cus Porsche is a nice car..996 and 911TT...but even the 996 is kinda blah blah stock....911TT is all around perfect car for speed and comfort and handling......

M3 is not even in the same class as a Porsche nor will it EVER be...but even a Porsche in all actuality now that i think about it is kinda slow in the quarter...except for the 1997 911TTS..which is one of the best Porsches ever made...

and before anyone says Ferrari will beat a Muscle car in the quarter go do some reading...they are slow as shit in the quarter...i THINK..but am not positive that the 99 Ferrari 355 ran low 14s in the quarter..thats almost the same as a lexus GS400...

Those cars are all top end...Ferrari by the way is my favorite by far

Lamborghini Diablos NOONE better mention..they are shit ....yes they may top out at the 200 mark...but for the price you get a car that u may one day bury to 200/210 but the handling is absolute shi , one of the worst handling sports cars ever made....that car is purely for people who want to buy the name Lamborghini and look cool cus they have the cash to spare....1 good thing about Lambo is the fact that they are making the bodies 90% carbon fiber..which is real good cus of all the weight u will save as oppose to using metal or plastic..but at 200 miles per hour if u crash a car made of carbon fiber and your not wearing a full race suit with fire retardent and a 18 point roll cage in that Lambo with the strongest helmet in the world...well your basically going to die...badley...

Posted by Choobak on Jun-27-2002 21:11:

A decent car thread... time to get my two cents in...

Alright, tiesto14 definately knows his shit. American muscle cars are exactly that.. muscle cars.. tune 'em and you've got yourself a drag machine that doesn't compare to anything European. A friend of mine put slicks on his fully engine modded camaro ss (n/a, bored out, polished, intake, cams, straight pipe (sssshhh.. don't tell the cops) ). This fire breathing bad ass completely destroyed some cocky bastard's yellow s4... haha.. don't even know why he tried...

I mean power (massive horsepower and torque) has always been huge in Americas automotive history and racing. Look at the types of professional races that are big in this country... drag racing, oval racing, truck pulls, and what not... all balls, no handling...

In Europe, you've got your formula 1 (it's all street style cuircuit races), world rally, and whatever else there is... World rally is in my opinion the ultimate test of a car. I'd take one of those cars with it's apparently measely 300 horsepower over anything else mentioned here any day. I mean, who the hell wouldn't wanna lock the back wheels and swing around a sharp corner on the cliffs of corsica while narrowly avoiding a crowd of screaming onlookers. Alright now I'm babbling...

And about ferrari's, lamborghini's, and porsches. They only sell cars to fund there racing programs (or they used to at least). These cars demand top dollar for their excessive amount of race track proven engineering (especially the porsches... they raped everyone back in the 70s.. so well engineered). I mean, you're not gonna find ceramic brakes on any cobra anytime soon sorry to say..

Anyway, I guess my point is different cars serve different purposes. If you want cheap speed get a muscle car. If you want expensive, race proven engineering get a porsche or ferrari (skip the lambo... only tools buy those). If you want a kickass car, get a peugeot 206 or ford focus and tune it into a rally monster, or buy a wrx sti or an evo VII...

LoL...and M3s where built for spoiled rich kids who cant power shift and to give them the insane thought that their cars are actually "the ultimate driving machine"...LOL...the ONLY car on this planet EVER made that can actually use that phrase is Porsche because it has the HP, the TQ, the handling, the comfort, the looks and the engineering...no other car should use that phrase...

and why should i learn how to read?...

Posted by nate735 on Jun-28-2002 00:12:

If it was up to me to get a m3 i would have ac schnitzer deck it out. Look at what they did to a 745.

This car is hot.
