Yeah Meshuggah played with them for like 3 cities, did you catch one?

What do you mean "all other thrash metal"? They're not exactly a thrash band.

In my opinion it's beginning with "Nothing" that it gets really interesting.

They are technically precision thrash metal, perfect poly-rhythmic structures.

Contradictions Collapse was more like 80's epic metal.

I think it was more than 3 cities. I'm pretty sure they toured with them. Saw it in Madison, wi.

Contradictions Collapse is their (only) thrash record, and i don't think it's particularly good or essential. After CC the thrash influence was phased out.

Man, the ONLY bands that deserve to be called "thrash" are Megadeth and Slayer and hell I'm going to there concert in October! :D

Duude I can't wait. I took a shine to United Abominations not as much as their previous album but still it had various Thrash elements to it e.g Burnt Ice, You're Dead etc.

But this is going to EXPLODE!

DEATH BY THE HEADCRUSHER!

I'm confused here, is someone calling Meshuggah, thrash metal?!? They are the furthest from it. THIS is thrash metal:

Posted by iTranscendence on Aug-08-2009 08:42:

Again everyone at discogs seems to disagree about what meshuggah is.

Posted by ChriSiZm on Aug-08-2009 10:24:

Thats a mad track, who's the band?

That's Midnight from Detroit I believe.

More good thrash. Some lightly black thrash:

Lawl I just registered to this forum man. Trance is some good shit goto say, just got into the genre completely new. I'm a very big metal fan myself. Got me 175 gigs of pure metal on my external drive right now. My top 5 fav bands atm...

1. Asphyx - Death Doom Metal from Netherlands
2. Devourment - Brutal Death Metal from USA
3. Rammstein - Industrial Metal From Germany
4. Blind Guardian - Power Metal from Germany
5. Necrodeath - Death/Black/Thrash Metal from Italy

Posted by Burn Notice on Aug-10-2009 06:51:

I saw Asphyx at the Maryland Deathfest a few months ago. They were powerful live. Haven't heard the new album yet.

Devourment were horrible like usual

never really been a metal fan, i guess i just don't wear enough wife beaters...

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Aug-10-2009 13:32:

Used to be a big fan before I discovered edm... all the basics - Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath... it hasn't really been my 'thing' though for a while. Apart from the few stuff I grew up with, I can't really go back and listen to it, though I enjoyed myself at an In Flames show I went to recently.

All the genre splitting in metal is confusing, it's almost as bad as edm, lol. Metal needs its own "Ishkur's Guide" methinks.
