# Downtempo/Ambient
# Nu Jazz

i'd still have a go at it, but i wouldnt be too pleased about it

As stated in the rules, you can name one genre you don't want. So which one of the two is it? The drawing will be posted tomorrow.

Dude, get rid of Nu Jazz, Downtempo/Ambient is a good genre.

OK, I don't want Schranz...

skweee - interesting..

when this contest consumes all suitable genres (which will probably be soon), i think something like this could be fun:

http://14tracks.com/

every week selectors pick tunes that fit certain conceptual, musical, or historical criteria. some might be bullshit, but it's fun.

'14 tracks experimenting with bowed strings'
'14 tracks in love with mali'
'14 visions of the future'
'14 tracks in search of wonky'
'14 tracks of urban gamelan'

etc

more fun IMO

You should check out the techno mix from the first genre challenge...definitely a mix that did the genre justice.

Awesome, I got pretty lucky there... my favorite genre on that list!

lucky you.. i would have liked techno.. but would have preferred old trance more.

i guess im happy with happy hardcore tho.. i was sorta brought up on it, i was never into it, but was around people that were.. and i have vinyls too.. so atleast i dont have to use traktor this time

The fact that you can make a happy hardcore mix out of vinyl you already own is pretty depressing

And for the free recorder, get Audacity

first.. fuck you!

second.. thank you

hehe seriously tho.. ive been collecting since about 95.. my brother was into happy hardcore, i was always into gabba. the majority of our vinyls had been sold, but theres still one or 2 things we didnt sell,.. and for some reason i have some happy hardcore still.. no idea why as theyre not mine. so the set might not be a belter.. but its the best of what i can make with what ive got.

im tempted to vear into the dutch bouncy techno stuff.. as this is the way some hardcore sets would go, but im not sure if id be penalised by doing so.. if i can, then ill be a jolly chap. as i have plenty of that stuff
