| Originally posted by EgosXII yeah for sure mate, was just answering a question asked more than anything... obviously i don't know him and can't be that judgemental, and also i think the 'djs are ****s' thing is jsutifiable to a certain extent from any producer's angle (even i get annoyed at just djs semi-frequently, and i'm just a n00b producer!)... but yeah every time i've seen interviews and shit he jsut seems like a cockhead. like the motorbike thing: it's like bono giving a million dollars to charity: 1: you can fucking afford it! 2: if it was really because you're so nice, why the fark would we the public even know about it?? anyway yeah, obviously i don't know him, and obviously i've only seen him at certain times, so i don't really know anyway, but in the scene he's often seen as a bit of a douche.. |

These are the only photos I could find of VNV Nation's studio (from 2007). It's pretty simple and from what I recall, their critically acclaimed "FuturePerfect" album was produced almost entirely with E-magic (pre-cursor to Logic) on a PC and soft synths, although they have now apparently gone to a Mac/Logic and made extensive use of vintage analog gear on their latest album.

Studio pics for The Blizzard. Nice and simple. I get the impression that the V-Synth is new, and hasn't been used in any of their previous productions. Kind of thinking I might want to check the V-Synth out. The demos on the Roland site sound very nice, especially pads.

Blizzard(Tore) used to make all his sounds with virus in Sonar but i dont know anymore as he moved from Oslo. Remember trying some of his gear before I got into production any serious, he had some fucking awesome projects going on some years ago, wish he would continue with that style instead of what he is doing now. Super-talent.

Anyone else notice the lack of room treatment in alot of these, the stuff that everyone on here swears is a must have? I also noticed 2 world class porducers (D.Ramirez and Funkagenda) don't have treatment in their studios either. Just an interesting observation.
