Now add a layer of assholish attitudes ontop of that from both sides.

Precisely.

The only difference is, "theirs" is to prevent the spread of misinformation (at least, it was initially... sure, now it's probably out of pure annoyance).

Yours is because you get butt-hurt when someone disagrees with you.

Just saying what I've observed.

Fair enough.

What's actually funny is that theres more posts trying to correct the troll than actually by the troll.

This thread addresses that problem directly, though. Better here than in a thread about compression or EQ, yeah?

Mods arent really necessary. Just dont involve yourself in threads that you think are stupid or that someone is obviously trolling in - its not that hard really.

People that are on these forums long enough know the difference between the people who are spreading misinformation and those who arent.

Posted by justjabbin on Aug-05-2009 17:31:

I vote cryo as one of several mods

Especially on the "musical theory is not important ones

There is a troll? Where?

This thread is an act of trolling, because it was made only for the purpose of talking about, and bringing disruption to a specific user.

Posted by Energy_3 on Aug-05-2009 19:29:

all i have to say is that from a newbee outsiders point of view - the main point of concern i see (@,@) is in the way in which people are corrected, there is nothing wrong with people correcting people with regards to false or misleading info [and remember that person may not know it is in fact that - incorrect] but how one goes about re directing the information which others consider to be incorrect is the main crux of this issue.

for one, if someone is wrong, state it in a just manner - regardless of how long this has been going on - there is no need for verbal slanging IMHO!

Even if after someone has been corrected, and they still stand by there point of view, let them why argue the point (if you state under there post your point of view thats all thats needed ) let those that come and read such things make their own mind up about it.

And, i agree with you all here, when something is wrong, and facts support such a case then yes advise so accordingly.

Peace on earth is impossible - but peace on Trance Addict is feasible!

Look, i think who the hell am I to state anything here really, im new and what do i know - and im sure some of you think that. I just think look regardless of some ones personal inadequacies we must remain just mannered in our approach to each other - tell each other your wrong, but damm shizzam a budah bing limit the use of degrading!

I really hope this sorts its self out, for the best!

This is what they don't realize. And are infact, quite oblivious to.

All that matters is that in their minds someone "wrong" got "corrected", manners and mentality have utterly no play in their consideration. And people wonder why a bunch of arguments occur. When someone objects to them, they immediatly assume the person is objecting to the content of the information rather than the context.

I understand what your saying - and from what i can see the context in which words are used are not considered too 'your right', thats how i see at this point in time anyways.

I mean, there is and in most cases, always constructive criticisms being used in opposing arguments, its just shame with what comes along with it (which i have mentioned several times).

yes i agree to some extent indeed this is the case - but there is clearly frequent debate (in an offensive manner) as well over one persons subjective/objective point of view with reference to the topic at hand. Which im sure you agree with too!

peace"

Well, I wouldn't call the crtisisms constructive.

Well, a sane person would just walk by. Or, observe (for whatever reason) and then walk away. Stepping on them "when it gets boring" is wrong and dumb for a number of reasons. One reason being that you might get swarmed and bitten the fuck up. Which you would deserve for being not only cruel but also an idiot.

I can buy that... but, the thing is, it's not like it was just a one-off incident and people immediately jumped down his throat. It was a frequent recurrence, which makes people less patient.

Not that it doesn't ever happen on the first shot, mind you.

yeah i gather that, like Digi made mention to me, its something that has been stewing in a pot for sometime now.

But it would be good if it could be resolved and for amicable communication to lead the way in this future

Posted by david.michael on Aug-05-2009 20:51:

That seems to be theoretically happening in this thread now, in my opinion.

Will it stick? Dunno. But it's already begun to self-moderate itself.

fingers crossed! well hopefully with so much good intention around, the natural thing to occur would be for it this forum to take that direction

if not i reckon we bust out the whip

Im with you lets hope

Posted by sixofour.604 on Aug-05-2009 21:37:

Chances are in the next day or so digi or rann or someone will just do the same ole shit and we won't get anywhere with them. But we can hope.

cryophonik needs a special mention

Posted by DJ RANN on Aug-06-2009 04:53:

Just stop mentioning me. seriously.

I don't read your posts anymore so just stop trying have my babies - just 'aint gonna happen.

As for a mod yes, we badly need one. Existo22 has some mod capabilities it seems, and was glad to see useless threads closed out on 604 (after serious pwnage) on a couple of occasions.

I vote for any of the noms (except the obvious) and would add cryo easily as well as EchoSys.

Can we please make some progress on this already. I see Allied nations posts in the DJ booth so why not here.

More than anything I just would like to not have to trawl through pages of bullshit to get to the decent, as well as the removal of repetitious subjects.

Come on, peeps, let's just sort it out once and for all.

Why don't you leave TA if you don't like it? No one is forcing you to read. Stop whining and grow up. Seriously "pwnage"? What are you, 14? I'm going to continue mentioning your name because you are the example of how not to act.

Posted by Kismet7 on Aug-06-2009 05:29:

Pwnage is for all ages. It does not discriminate.
