wtf

I work hard all week so I can go party at clubs. She works weeekend, I work weekdays - thats the way the cookie crumbles. She has no right to be rude to anyone. If she doesnt like the people and the job she should quit. I've had jobs where customers treat me like shit - but you just have to bite your tongue and deal with it.

That being said, of course no one should treat anyone like shit. Sadly life doesnt work that way.

btw - Ive never had a problem with her.

Professional customer service means being nice and courtious and leaving your attitude at the door. If somebody doesnt like the clientel they have 2 choices:

1) deal with it in a professional manner including being polite when they arent
2) quit, no one is forcing you to be there

And as for tipping. Tipping is tipping... its supposed to be about providing an extra for good service. So if someone wants a tip they have to earn it by doing a good job and acting professionally.

I worked in the club industry for 10 years or more and dealt with tonnes of scumbags but i did my best to remain professional at all times.

I dont understand how people can think that pissing people off is going to encourage them to part with their money voluntarily. And that goes for any business

@ Intagible

I think that's a good subject you bring up. The concept of hard work, how we are supposed to treat people in our jobs and how we deserve to be treated as paying customers.

makes me think that people with money get treated a lot better because they can silence someone with their wallet... just the way the world works, fine. That's entitlement.

The argument that if someone doesn't like their job they should just quit and find a new one... is the argument of someone who has always been treated well in their job (relatively), or has never REALLY needed the money.

Plus its a recession, people are putting up with all sorts of shit on the job, from paycuts to abusive employers because there is nothing else. Quitting is not always an option.

I've completely derailed the thread. appologies

I made an account to post my thoughts. Maybe we have all had different experiences regarding her bathroom manners, but some of the things people were saying about her were not very nice. If that's what those people are like in real life, and not just online, no wonder she was rude to them.

The things people have been saying are true and sometimes the truth isn't nice. Maybe if she got her shit together and treated people with respect then and only then will people be nice to her. Her attitude reflects bad on FW.

If she was in any other job she would have been fired. Lets say she worked as a server and had a bad table and as a result treated them like shit, would she keep the job? I doubt it, her ass would be fired. Trust me, servers have to put up with a lot more shit then she does. Would you tip a waitress if she treated you like this girl does? I dont think so. When your at work act professional, you will get more money with a smile than a frown.

I hope the crew at FW are reading this and have a talk with her.

P.S. The guy in the men's room is awesome

A recession is even MORE of a reason to do your job to the best of your ability. Because treating people like crap is going to get fewer tips and possibly get you fired.

The arguments just made are good reasons why you should treat ALL customers professionally.

If you think so called "rich people" (most arent) should act differently then i suggest you become rich yourself and act the way you feel you should. In the mean time, set an example instead of reflecting what they bring or instigating it.

I have stopped going to many clubs in toronto due to poor customer service. Im not even asking for exemplary service but getting yelled at and treated like shit is not something i deserve when spending anywhere from $50-$500 on a night out.

Thanks anyways!

My girlfriend hasn't had a problem with her but I have heard a lot more negative things than positive. From what Nikki has told me she always has a pissed off look on her face. Maybe, just maybe if she left the attitude at the door people would like her more.

I like the guy in the FW bathroom, he's nice and I've never seen him give any attitude.

P.S. Some people work hard all week AND all weekend without complaining!!!!!

Posted by basilisk on Aug-13-2009 20:23:

I never managed to pick up the fine art of drying my hands or turning on taps so I find this kind of pitiful make work very helpful. Besides, if bathroom attendants don't aspire to any higher social station in life who are we to judge? At least they are performing a tremendously useful service to the community. Imagine what clubs would be like without the attendants: a bunch of soppy-handed foul-smelling louts and lasses crashing into each other on the dance floor. Pure pandemonium. Give them all a fucking medal.

Imagine what washrooms would be like without washroom attendants

- full of barf, people doing drugs, people having sex, people getting in fights....

But I think the club should pay them for to keep an eye on the washrooms - tips should not be expected. As Jayx1 said - a tip is a TIP not expected pay.

I'm not sure what she does during the week for money, but i assume she works. If she seems pissed off, I honestly think it's just because she's exhausted (she says she's tired almost everytime I see her). I agree that she should work on being a little more friendly, I can see how ppl think she's pissed off though. There's not many ppl that would want to work that job, and she does put up with a lot of shit. I think she deserves a little more credit than she's getting here.

btw- i work alot of weekends too and sometimes that puts a damper on my social life, but you dont see me bitching about it. Thats what I signed up for.

um no.... Bathroom attendents came into style in mainstream Toronto clubs just a few years ago. They were always around in the finest restaurants. Clubs were doing just well without them, but the benefit to a club now is that there are now at least 2 less people on the payroll, more depending on how many washrooms there are. It's a big cost savings to a club.

For the many years I've been to the clubs where they were introduced, I have not seen any difference in quality of the washroom now.

Bathroom attendants have no place in mainstream clubs, except for VIP areas at best.

Having them at the guv main room, and small clubs where the walls' plaster if falling apart or any club where the bathroom looks less modern or less clean than mine, it's a very annoying cash-grab.

There should be paper towels available to patrons as an option, and not hoarded by the attendants.

hehe the old zone bathroom attendant who'd try to sell everyone viagra
