Accadia - Into the Dawn (James Holden Remix)
Legendary.
I find a lot of his newer stuff a bit pretentious and dull but some of his earlier stuff was great. I always thought Nothing was one of his finest works. the original mix. never liked the 93 returning mix for some reason
I think the special thing about 93 returning mix is this reversed vocal. Never been a huge fan of original mix actually. But definitely one of his finest works. Too bad he didn't stick to that style, he has changed over the years.
Wow, that EM is frikkin awesome!!! Thanks for posting the link!
He has done only one Essential Mix, right? (that one from 2002)

His BC label was reaaaalllly solid for the first few years of its existence. His At the Controls comp is way better than the others. These days he isn't keeping me interested though. |

Any chance to get a link for this set?
The man was SICK yesterday. Absolutely ridiculous.
I've always been a huge Holden fan for a long time and after seeing him live yesterday for the first time since around the 'Sky Was Pink' came out all I can say is wow.
A few years back he was an okay DJ but he's really really stepped up his game. He was by far the best DJ at Electric Zoo. His set was incredibly programmed, mixing/looping/EFX was spot on and the music he played was just 100X more interesting that the boring minimal infused stuff everyone else was playing all day.
He's gotta put out another mix CD. I listen to At The Controls way more than any GU or Fabric mix. I think that says a lot on how well this has and will age.
Where we can grab Holden's set from Electric Zoo Festival? I see some sets that Sirius broadcasted, but James isn't there.
Cheers
Maybe it hasn't been posted yet, idk. But it was insane.
I saw him 2 days ago and... BORING ! his older productions are gold, but now it's mostly boring stuff..
Thanks for the EM

the man's a true EDM genius. his every production in what i call the "golden age" 2000-2003 is pure gold with palladium droplets. i know he's been deep down into minimal/noize/wtf for the past several years

Nathan Fake - The Sky was Pink (James Holden remix)
and the entire At the Controls album
Most of Holden's sets have always been amazing. I'll always hear at least one track that stays in my mind for awhile. There's those few sets though that are really off the wall and push him away from being one of my favorite DJs.
I should really start thinking of him as an influence now that I think about it. His style is pretty unique (excluding his BC crew
).
