*****, I'm not giving into your self pity and your "let's turn every thread I'm in about to a thread about me" attitude. This thread had nothing to do with you, although you've tried (unfortunately fairly successfully), as usual. So I'm just going to continue on in the thread as if you don't even exist - b/c that would make everyone's life a lot better.
Don't bother responding to me with your "I have done nothing to you, I don't know why you're being rude to me. I respect everyone's taste in music. I have been making music on TA and mixing hip hop with trance way longer than anybody else." I don't give a shit, and I've heard it all before...in EVERY single post you make b/c all you do is reiterate your words and they are meaningless.
And as for backing up my argument with examples...I think you've had enough with everyone else's youtube posts, so point made. You lose. You are in ABSOLUTELY NO WAY an innovator. As some people have already said it, you're nothing but a coward.

What people consider urban music now, didn't even exist in 1982. Planet Rock spawned electro funk, miami bass, freestyle among other genres, not to mention pushing hip hop into the mainstream. |
you crackers are all upset because blacks make better music then you
lol *****, u don't know what the fuck u're talking about.
...and yes I am pissy cause its Tiesto. He use to be such a great DJ BACK in the day but now he's gone completey downhill. I hate it when DJs/artists go mainstream and completely fuck up their style.
Some collaborations are pretty good but I prefer DJs who stick to EDM.
ps Didn't trance music start in goa at those anjuna beach parties, and after that developed in Germany?

I was so annoyed by what she said I literally had to excuse myself from the conversation. In a nutshell she said that she cannot respect "techno music" b/c none of it is original, it's all stolen. I argued to her that she must not respect a lot of music (i.e. definitely not rap, pop music, even rock music). She said she did respect those artists b/c they were original. I questioned where she got her music degree, and how many classes (or lecture even) on electronic music she'd even had. For someone who received their degree in music, I was quite shocked. |

hip hop and dance music used to be called hip house in the early 90s
I'm calling today's combinations "Crunk House"
Y'all are welcome to use this genre title if that helps.

isn't hip hop and offshoot of breakbeat? Isn't breakbeat a subgenre in electronic music? Don't breakbeats and house share a common ancestry in soul and funk? This is nothing new.

quote:
Originally posted by Sly_Guy actually you are wrong. Breakbeat and hip hop came about very much at the same time, however hip hop as we know it is a later invention. Early hip hop is simply battle DJs going at breakbeats [hence the name 'hip hop' meaning the hip sounds of hopping between the records].
quote:
Originally posted by Sly_Guy House differs from breakbeat in it's baseline structure, although the do share 4-4 time [house is 1,2,3,4, where breakbeat is 1,2,3and4].
quote:
Originally posted by Sly_Guy Breakbeats as an origin draw off of funk and soul, house does so through disco, where disco shares funk and soul as an ancestor.].
quote:
Originally posted by Sly_Guy Trance itself is an offshoot of early techno, which has it's roots based in house. The structure of trance is identical to house as they're both in the simple one bassline hit per beat in 4-4 time, the notable difference being the relative speed of trance to house in their BPMs [and of course the weak sappy-ness of the trance melodies...haha].
Tiesto and Three Six Mafia
Music has reached its peak right here, folks. It doesn't get any better than this.
