Fight Club is the best piece of filmmaking I have ever seen.

On a similar note, i just saw the second transformers film: Michael Bay is ruining cinema. I don't think there was more than 2 minutes of consecutive dialogue in the whole film. I don't mind action as the outcome of plot, but plot as a means to action is fucking stupid.

why don't all you sadists just go watch a snuff film and get over it?

on that note, "drag me to hell" was very snuff-film-like for those interested

I think I heard that this is the same guy that made The Day After Tomorrow, which i happened to see last weekend. My god it was fucking atrocious. And no matter how many ads or trailers I see for 2012, it looks bloody awful as well.

The newspaper had a review of it yesterday which contained a comment something along the lines of "you'll wish a tsunami would come through the cinema"

it's the basis of the film anyway, not the outcomes: if LOTR was made with peter jackson actually believing in middle earth and trying to convert people then i probably wouldn't have... if some retard actually believes it, despite it's fictitious intentions that's a different story

I'm seeing it in 2 hours. I expect a casual and enjoyable 100 minutes of film. Worth a watch just for the special effects.

100 minutes? Try 180 minutes. All in all, it was entertaining, really good special effects. But certainly wasn't the best movie ever made. I give it 6.5/10.

The special effects are absolutely fantastic. So much so, that I'm probably going to go see it at the IMAX a second time just for the visuals.

The movie is once again, ridiculous but well worth the money. Go see it!

Not enough awesomely over the top CGI to make up for the horribly cliche/cheezy dialogue that took up 3/4 of the movie. 5/10.

Nah 3.5 a piece. I think they're getting a bit softer in their old age.. david's lightened up a bit and likes his boyish movies, margaret is starting to like animation. Though I don't think dave will ever go for dogma or anything involving hand-held cameras.

By the way, I was reading the subtitles when he said this, so I'm not sure if they translated something wrong: Did doctor Helmsljev (or whatever his name was ) really read 2000 books in high school? Or did he read all these books until he finished high school? Hell, I'm about to close this year having read 50 books, and I can pretty much say it's virtually impossible to read more than 500 if you've got a life

Edit: I mean, yeah, I know the film is not exactly realistic but, bloody hell! 2000 books in 3 years!? I don't even care about the rest, this is what shocked me the most!

i hate john cusack for taking the part in this movie. i love him and he can do so much better:[

the CG, the russians, and Woody Harrelson were full of win in this movie

everything else sucked, but i guess that was the point

2012 To Be Adapted To A TV Series

EW went on to say that TV producer Mark Gordon is already in talks with ABC about the series, which could fill the gap in disaster shows that Lost will leave behind after the series wraps up next year.
