I gotta admit that I had never heard that track before. I like some commercial house but this one was really bad. The vocals are just awful and there is nothing interesting going on in the track for the entire duration.

Since when is cheesy, commercial house known for having ANYTHING interesting going on? You would feel differently if you had listened to this track at a time where this was the sort of music that you ate up.

I find it pretty funny that she thinks this is something that will embarrass me. Specially considering how I've never denied liking anything.

People who are ashamed of their musical tastes, feel "guilty" about liking a song or feel the need to go on the internet and search someone's background just to "prove" said someone had a shitty taste at one point in the past are just pathetic and strongly insecure.

I think there are plenty of tunes which are cheesy at the same time as interesting. Such as this:

Key word in my statement was "known". Since when is cheesy, commercial house music known for having anything interesting going on?

As in any genre, there will be interesting tracks but certainly "interesting" is not the first thing you would think of when cheesy house music is mentioned.

Anyways...I don't like "Deepest Blue" for any other reason than that I like it.

My god I know that feeling very very well and it is so rare nowadays to get that deep deep feeling from trance being played in fuckin clubs.

I hate this damn city

john fleming is a legend and a brilliant dj. i respect that he's prepared to speak honestly about how he feels.

love his line about the lie detector test, would love to see the look on most of the top 20 djs if they had one strapped on and were asked about the top 100

In his blog entry that Existo copy-pasta'd the other day, he was banging on about the lack of superclubs catering for specialist crowds. That's your problem right there, J00Fy. Take a pay cut and play smaller venues and you'll get specialist crowds. Play bigger clubs and you get the lowest common denominator, because it's where the profit is.

they have actually been looking at smaller, more intimate venues for nearly the last 12 months, he played here last year in tasmania, i don't think that many touring dj's play there at all

that's one of the reasons he left his former booking agency and set up one himself. His previous agency only booked him the (biggest)events for the highest prices. He "never" played smaller venues as they couldn't pay the price he could get on bigger venues.
