That night was great. I think that was the same night he dropped Redanka- Waves in the middle of his solo set. It was so perfectly timed, he built up to that track so well.the back to back thing as planned as that same year he was doing a lot of touring with James Z. and those guys would play alongside like that at a lot of their gigs.

He still has the 'magic', but maybe it's not as pronounced because tracks are so easy to get an identify now because of the 'net. The thank you mix in Tunisia from this year still shows he has the ability to weave in and out of a thinking person's edm set. I don't think we'll ever find out about what happened on nov 7, but he still has 'it'.

And yes, he is amazing either way.

I know he was open about his drug use when first discovering the scene but where has he been open about his drug use recently?

Somewhat related, there was a small vid that existed of Digweed blazing a ting during the sasha and digweed Miami boat cruise during '06 WMC while spinning at the same time. He takes a couple of tokes when some random passes him a joint lol. Finally the man lives up to his las name!

I still feel disrespected. It's not even close to being the same kind of thing when he's only here once a year, and has thousands of people anticipating his performance... not to mention the monetary wastage.

I'd compare it to Santa Claus calling it in sick on Christmas. I feel as bad as all those kids would.

Posted by Nobbie Q on Nov-13-2009 21:38:

Yeah it is still disrespect and I still have this sour taste in mouth and it's not from the grapes I just had

Posted by Dior Homme on Nov-14-2009 00:28:

It's not disrespect if he calls in for being sick. You guys think he has hangover. But its only speculation.

It's nice to hear people remembering that night
Lawler/Sasha, 1st sunrise set @ Skybar will always be legendary. The cops came and stopped the party. I don't know how long everyone would go for but nobody seemed to be leaving when they showed up

The night was remarkable. Old Guv main room was so destoryed. Such a "wow" amount of music coming out of those speakers.

i was in front of the DJ booth that entire night, solo...never went to the bathroom, not once,
coz i didnt wanna miss one second of that masterpiece...EVERY tune was incredible.

As huge a Sasha fan i am, Zabiela was def better that night.
Sasha 8/10
Zabiela 10/10 <--- he was freaking RETARDED

What i'd do for a copy those sets!

whatever the reason may be, we're not his 'friends'. this is his JOB! he had a professional commitment, and with that would come an official apology or explanation, not a last minute change in plans. people come from places outside of TO and spend big bucks to see him. in my opinion, that's just selfish and cocky.

thank god i didn't make that trip to TO and spend all that money just to get ditched again.

I dont see a reason for anyone to make such a long trip from there here just to see a dj act...or well a performance for that matter...

i would travel to see a dj, or him for that matter, all the time. that's how much i used to love his 'performance'. now he's just 'acting' like a dick. i guess his 'head' is getting a lil too big, so missing a 'performance' doesn't influence is 'act'...or so he may think. he's cut off in my books.

Posted by bluE_Neon on Nov-15-2009 19:33:

DJ Three was the 1st DJ playing. He was sick too. I don't remember Jimmy Van M but always played minimal progressive house & dropping 1 hot track every 40 mins

Posted by infinity HiGH on Nov-15-2009 19:44:

Heh, I actually went down to Guv last minute to see Sasha, only to see the signs by the Glist line that he cancelled. I was the last person to make the line and walked out just before I got searched. Deep down inside, I was happy he didn't show.

If its the night that I'm thinking of.... then you can download the sets from that night from Sasha's website. Or fine them online somewhere.

I have it somewhere, I'd have to dig for it.

I *think* the ones that are for download are from 2003, not 2004. They both played Guv 2 years in a row. Once for Labour of Love 2003 and then Guv Anniversary 2004.
