I think they were selectively bred not GM, but then again GM is just a form of more efficient selective breeding anyway.

Yeah, breeding spiders with corn, because that's how nature would do it.

Selective breeding is not the same as genetically modyfying living organisms.

Look at this article, might persuade some people to believe that GMO are potentially dangerous.

As long as the ignorant people stop saying GMO's will save the world.

Come on man, more food for the fat Americans. Why the hell would we share all our food with poor people in other Countries? Genetically modified food has been around a long time yet world hunger seems to be rising.

Lots of GM food makes its way to Africa; regardless, more food is a good thing irrespective of who is eating it. it helps keep food prices down, or at least tempers their rise.

Im much more open to arguments that we still dont know enough about GM food to rule on its safety, than I am to assertions that making more food available is a bad thing.

Hummm I never wanted to give the impression that making more food is bad. The problem is the people in control of the food and not the amount of food. Gonna try and end this all by saying that I have nothing agaisnt genetic engineering. My problem is with the companies doing it and the the lack of research regarding its safety. Out of all the companies in the world, genetic engineering had to fall into the hands of Monsanto

So then fucking say that instead of going on these retarded idiocy filled tirades about how GM crops are making Americans fatter while world hunger is rising.

No, American appetites and couch potato habits are making Americans fatter.

They really aren't. Our diet is making us fatter. Using HFCS in everything, eating poor diets, eating too much meat, no exercise, etc. How does that have anything to do with GM corn making us fatter as a population?

The surplus in GM corn has caused unhealthy products to become more available and much more cheaper than healthy products.

It doesn't matter if the food is cheap, it just matters how much people eat. Calories are all that really matter in terms of weight gain.

well if you examine the story of that obese family in the movie it will make more sense. They are poor and eating fast food and junkfood everyday because its cheaper and much easier to get. Eating garbage everyday no matter how many calories of garbage you eat will turn you into looking like garbage.

Causality does not mean causation.

No.

If they cut all their meals down to one third of the current size and kept their activity the same, they would lose weight, easily. That's just how physics and the human body work. Weight gain does not contradict thermodynamics.

Man, you are so god damned uninformed. You are clueless as to why corn products are even cheap in our country, yet you, falsely, claim that it is because of GM crops.

Not to mention if they did that they would be able to eat even more cheaply and spend some of their food money on other stuff. Like a set of weights or some running shoes, for instance.

Id like to compare someone who eats the same amount of Mc Donalds everyday in calories with someone who only eats vegetables. Do you think these two people will be the same health wise?

Uhh, you would have to eat a fuckton of vegetables to get the same calories as even one McDonald's meal, so that is not a realistic comparison. I'm not saying McD's is great for you, I'm just saying that eating it in moderation will not make you gain weight. There isn't some magical weight-gain ingredient in fast food that makes people fat, it's the fact that they eat way too much. Which the restaurants make all too easy by including a huge amount of food in a "meal."

Of course, eating McD's all the time might have other negative health effects, even if you don't eat a lot of it. But I've never denied that possibility.

Hyperbole doesn't help your cause.
