Yeah, I have had the same problems. You criticise anyone for anything that is in any way, shape, or form remotely related to their gender or ethnic origin, and you are already an asshole. Pisses me right the fuck off, but I just try to avoid it now, unless I am around more educated folk.

And by the way.. women in society have an easier time (way easier) in getting admin/ entry level jobs. and when it comes down to making cuts in a company they are usually the last ones to be cut. They are somewhat like minorities and a certain quota is preferable for a company to have a decent ratio of race and sex.

I've observed this first hand.

the same goes for oprah: i'm not aware of the past, and basically i don't think i should be. Everyone has fucked up shit in their past, it should NEVER be used to increase profits and sympathies in my opinion...
and oprah always goes on about people being themselves and shit, while preaching her consumerist bullshit... i still clearly remember an episode in which she went somewhere and couldn't wear make-up.. i literally could not recognise her.

Its the same with native americans in canada. They get special treatment ( i somewhat agree that they deserve it since their land was taken from them). They do not have to pay certain taxes or any taxes at all (if im not mistaken.) And they get to go to school for free.

I had this chick in my university class she was part native. She had a motorcycle and a car and only worked part time during the year. IT was obvious she was taking advantage of the tax break.. She never ever ever complained about being a minority.

So shut the fuck up and go back to the kitchen if you don't like it.

I think women these days have it so much easier then men with respect to the work place and advancing and just life in general. If they are smart or whitty enough, Its easier for them to break through the glass cieling and attain at least middle to high income salaries.

It is also much easier for minorities to become police officers and hold government positions due to quotas as well.

I know several white people with perfect credentials that got pushed away for being police officers because they needed a higher minority count. Either the chinee guy or the 1 black guy got the positions. If it was a woman.. she would have probably got it too.

To PKC's point earlier in the thread, I feel the same way: props to her success and skill as a business woman, but her tv show is utter garbage in terms of content.

I've watched it many times to try and see what all the hype was about and I can't find it. She gets people on her show because of her name.... but seriously, there's hardly any insightful content. She gets people to talk because that's the thing to do; tell your story on Oprah. But big fucking deal I say...
